To start, the Gold Card can help you earn Membership Rewards® points that can be redeemed for travel, statement credits, point transfers to participating airline and hotel partners, and more. Gold Card Members can earn:
- 4X Points on restaurants worldwide, plus takeout and delivery in the U.S., on up to $50,000 in purchases each year.
- 4X Points on groceries at U.S. supermarkets, on up to $25,000 in purchases each year.
In addition to these earning accelerators, the Gold Card can also help you maximize your love of dining – from your morning cup of coffee to the corner table at your favorite restaurant:

Here’s a breakdown of each Gold benefit:
$120 Uber Cash
Whether you want to stay in and order your favorite bites or you need to get around town - Uber and Gold deliver savings. Just add your Card to your Uber account and you'll automatically get $10 in Uber Cash every month to use on eligible orders with Uber Eats and rides with Uber in the US. Enrollment required. Effective 11/8/2024, an Amex Card must be selected as the payment method for your Uber or Uber Eats transaction to redeem the Amex Uber Cash benefit.
$84 Dunkin' Credit
Satisfy your caffeine craving. With the $84 Dunkin' Credit, you can earn up to $7 in monthly statement credits after you pay with the Gold Card at Dunkin' locations. That's up to $84 in savings each year. Enrollment required.
$100 Resy Credit
Pick up the check on your next date night. After you pay with the Gold Card to dine at U.S. Resy restaurants oe make other eligible Resy purchases, you can get up to $100 back annually. Enrollment required through your Card account. Plus, create a Resy account to discover and book new restaurants to love.
$120 Dining Credit
Satisfy your cravings, sweet or savory, with the $120 Dining Credit. Earn up to $10 in statement credits monthly when you pay with the Gold Card at Grubhub, The Cheesecake Factory, Goldbelly, Wine.com, and Five Guys. Enrollment required.
Dining Tip: You can maximize your earning potential by taking advantage of point multipliers and statement credits simultaneously. For example, if you dine at your favorite U.S. Resy restaurant and pay with the Gold Card, you could be earning 4X Points and getting up to $100 back annually (that’s up to $50 semi-annually).
How to Enroll in the Gold Card Dining Credits
It’s important to keep in mind that you must enroll in order to use these credits. You can enroll in a few different ways: online, using the American Express App, or by calling:
Online: You can enroll online by logging in to your American Express account and selecting the Gold Card. On the menu bar, click More > Rewards & Benefits > Benefits to view your Benefit Dashboard. From there, you’ll see a list of all the benefits and the option to enroll (or an indication that you’ve already enrolled).
Amex App: You can enroll using the Amex App by tapping the Membership icon > View All (next to the Benefits section). From there, you’ll find a similar list of all the benefits and the option to enroll if you haven’t already.
Calling: And lastly, you can also enroll by calling the number on the back of the Gold Card and speaking to a Card Member representative.
Once you’re enrolled, you can immediately start using the Gold Card to redeem the credits. Statement credits typically post in a few days but may take up to eight weeks after an eligible purchase is charged to your Card Account.
Did you know?
While the other credits are added towards your Card balance as a statement credit, Uber Cash is added directly to your Uber Wallet in the Uber app. This means you’ll need to link the Gold Card to your Uber account in order to receive the monthly $10 in Uber Cash (that’s up to $120 in savings each year).
Amex Gold Card Travel Benefits
And if you love to discover dining in new destinations far from home, the Gold Card has you covered with exclusive travel benefits so you can get rewarded on your way to your next food adventure. In addition to the dining accelerators mentioned earlier, you can also earn:
- 3X Points on flights booked directly with airlines or on AmexTravel.com.
- 2X Points on prepaid hotels and other eligible travel – such as prepaid car rentals, vacation packages and cruises when you book through AmexTravel.com.
Plus, you’ll receive a $100 complimentary credit to use towards eligible charges, such as food and beverage, spa, or other on-property charges, when you book a prepaid stay of two nights or more at any property within The Hotel Collection through AmexTravel.com. Please note the credit use varies by property.
And don’t forget: you’ll earn 4X Points when dining-in at restaurants worldwide – so no matter where you are, the Gold Card can make your next meal more memorable.2
Frequently Asked Questions
Statement credits and Uber Cash do not roll over. All unused credits or Uber Cash expire at the end of each month.
Card Members typically receive statement credits within a few days of their transaction, but it may take up to eight weeks.
Statement credits and Uber Cash reset on the first day of each calendar month. For example, if you use your $10 monthly dining credit on 7/25, you’ll receive a new credit on 8/1. Similarly, if you use your $10 Uber Cash on 7/10, you'll receive $10 of Uber Cash to your account on 8/1 to use in August.
While you don’t need a Resy account to redeem your credit, creating a Resy account is a great way to discover and book restaurants that qualify for the $100 Resy Credit.
You can earn up to $10 in statement credits monthly when you pay with the Gold Card at Grubhub, which includes Seamless within New York City.
