Military Leave
Amex supports colleagues who participate in military service through several leave and benefit policies. Military leave may be granted in many circumstances, including when you are required to participate in training duty of any branch of the U.S. military or are called up for active duty as a reservist.
The leave will be either paid or unpaid depending on how long you’ve been with Amex.
- Paid military leave: Paid military leave is for colleagues with one year or more of consecutive service with Amex immediately prior to the first day of military leave. Paid leave is for a maximum of 18 months taken either consecutively or over several periods. After 18 months of paid leave, subsequent military leaves will be unpaid.
- Unpaid military leave: Unpaid military leave is for colleagues with less than one year of consecutive service with Amex immediately prior to the first day of military leave, or who have exhausted available paid military leave and have either exhausted or elected not to use other available paid time off options.
