How does your business track payments and still have time for business?

It’s a good question, especially when those transactions are frequent, recurring, or often include one-time exchanges.

Yes, tracking it all can get tricky, and it can certainly take up too much of your time.

But when you log in to your American Express Online Merchant Account and go to the Payments section, you can keep track of settlements, submissions, transactions, adjustments, and generate statements and reports.

Let’s start with settlements and find out what’s pending and posted. Here, you’re seeing settlements that have been paid.

You can customize your view to make it even easier to see your data. Just click the gear icon to add, remove, or drag and drop columns right where you want them.

And if you want to dive deeper into the details, click the arrow next to any settlement, and you’ll see the settlement number and amount, and other details. You can also download the data in .CSV, .XLS, and .PDF formats. Click the arrow on this page for an even more granular view of your data.

When you go back to the main Payments section, you can see the same types of details for your submissions, transactions, and adjustments.

Now, when it’s time to download an eStatement, just click “Statements and Reports” – then, enter your merchant number, select eStatement (MFAS) and choose the time period. Then download the report as a PDF or Excel spreadsheet.

To create your own report template, navigate to Reports within the Statements & Reports section, then choose the report type, your preference for data grouping, the level of information you’re after, and whether you want a .CSV or .XLS file. Then name your report, save it as a template, and include the Merchant IDs, date range, and data type you want. Click “Download” and you’re good to go.

Finally, click “Report Library”, and your scheduled downloads will be displayed.
