For Current Blue Cash Preferred Card Members
Starting on May 9, 2019, Card Members who have the Blue Cash Preferred Card will receive two new benefits:
- 6% cash back on select U.S. Streaming Subscriptions (a current list of the select providers can be found at americanexpress.com/rewards-info.)
- 3% cash back on Transit (e.g., taxis/rideshare,parking, tolls, trains, buses and more).
No changes to the following:
- Cashback is received in the form of Reward Dollars that can be redeemed as a statement credit.
- You’ll also continue to earn 6% cash back at U.S. supermarkets, on up to $6,000 per year in purchases (then 1%), 3% cash back at U.S. gas stations, and 1% cashback on other purchases.
On July 31, 2019, the 3% cash back at select U.S. Department Stores will be removed. Starting August 1, 2019, Card Members will earn 1% cash back at select U.S. Department Stores.
No. The annual fee for the Blue Cash Preferred Card remains $95.
Yes, Blue Cash Preferred Card Members can continue to use their current Card.
Card Members may request the new contactless Card design by calling the number on the back of their Card or by requesting one here on americanexpress.com. If you do not request the new Card design, you’ll receive the new Card design as your Card approaches its renewal date. With a contactless Card, Card Members can make quick and easy payments with a simple tap at participating merchants.
Card Members who applied for the Blue Cash Preferred Card on or after May 9, 2019 will receive the new contactless Card design automatically.
