Women in Finance Charter
Our vision is to support a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workforce, marketplace, and society. We see the diversity of people and experiences as fuel for the creativity and innovation that make us better as a team and ultimately help us deliver better results. On Team Amex, we aim to inspire women to confidently pursue their ambitions, whether personal or professional, and pay it forward. We remain invested in engaging, retaining, and backing our women colleagues and offer programs, benefits and flexibility that support holistic well-being.
By signing the Charter, we commit to:
- Getting a 50:50 Gender balance (with 10% tolerance) of senior management roles in the UK by 2024
- Continue boosting awareness of gender diversity across the organisation
- Continue reviewing our employee development programs to ensure a diverse and fair workforce and foster a culture of inclusion.
When we signed up to the Charter in September 2019, 45% of senior managers were women. As of September 2023, this has increased to 48%.

That means we support their physical, mental, and financial health through each stage of life. In recognition of the steps we have taken to support our colleagues through their menopause journey, which has included embedding an integrated care pathway, we have been independently assessed and accredited as a Menopause Friendly Employer, by expert leaders in menopause at work; Henpicked.
