Why is there a £1 charge in my Pending Transactions?

Some merchants may contact us to confirm that your Card is valid and not lost or stolen by processing a £1 authorisation charge. However, the merchants do not actually proceed with the charge, and it will not appear as a charge on your Card statement. This is simply one of the security measures some merchants use to protect their customers.
