How do I request a refund if I overpaid my balance?
If you require a Credit Balance Refund, please contact us via Amex Chat or by calling the number on the back of your Card. Please ensure you have your bank account details, as they may be needed to process the refund. In some cases, we may ask for additional documents, such as a bank statement, to meet regulatory requirements. We may contact you directly for any additional details.
You can submit documents via our Document Centre at www.americanexpress.com/en-gb/account/document-centre or by post.
After verification, your refund will be sent to your bank account, typically within 5 working days. If you do not receive the refund within this period, please reach out to us via Amex Chat for assistance.
