How do I unlock my PIN?

The Unlock PIN option will only display on your Online Account or Amex App if your PIN is positively locked. Your PIN will not automatically lock after three failed PIN attempts.

American Express^® App You can quickly and easily unlock your PIN on the Amex App. Simply go to the 'Account' tab and then select 'Manage Card PIN'. Tap 'Unlock PIN' and answer the security questions. Once completed, you can view or change your PIN if you need a reminder or want to change it to something more memorable. Watch how here.

Online First log in to your Online Account and select ‘Account Management’. Then go to ‘View PIN’ and answer the security questions. A banner will display at the top of the screen confirming your PIN is locked. Click the ‘Unlock PIN’ button and your PIN will be unlocked at your next Chip & PIN transaction.
