How to use Pay with Points
At American Express Travel Online, you can pay for eligible flights, pre-paid hotels, or car rentals with your Membership Rewards® points at a upsized value at S$6 per 1,000 points (instead of the usual S$4.80 base rate). Terms and conditions apply.
Just follow these easy steps
Step 1: Log in
Log in to your American Express Account. If you have an eligible Card you will see the points balance in the top right corner of the page.
Step 2: Search
Begin your travel search through the American Express Travel Online site.
Your available payment options will be displayed in the results.
Step 3: Apply Points
At checkout, fill in your traveller information and use the slider to choose how many points you would like to apply to your booking.
Step 4: Book Trip
Membership Rewards points will then be deducted from your Membership Rewards balance at the time of booking.

When you use Pay with Points, points will be deducted from the Membership Rewards balance at the time of booking.
Your travel payment can be paid in full with Membership Rewards points, or a combination of both Points and your American Express Card.
To use Pay with Points for an online travel booking, you must use a Membership Rewards program enrolled Card for payment and redeem at least 1,000 Points per transaction.
Membership Rewards points can be used on flights (including the International Airline Program), pre-paid hotels, and car rentals. It cannot be used towards Fine Hotels + Resorts and/or The Hotel Collection bookings.
How to earn Points
When you use your eligible American Express Card to make purchases, you'll earn 2 Membership Rewards Points for every SGD$1.60 you spend on qualifying purchases. Terms and conditions apply.

Any bonus points will normally be added to your Account within five working days of a transaction, but it could take up to 10 weeks.

To earn or redeem Membership Rewards points, Cards must be registered to the American Express Membership Rewards program, and be active and current in their payments. When paying with a combination of your American Express® Card and Membership Rewards points, only the value applied to the Card is eligible to earn Membership Rewards points.
