What are Airpoints Dollars?
Airpoints Dollars are the currency of Airpoints, Air New Zealand’s frequent flyer programme. 1 Airpoints Dollar is equivalent to 1 New Zealand Dollar at Air New Zealand. Airpoints Dollars can be spent on flights with Air New Zealand as well as partner and Star Alliance airlines. You can also use them online at the Airpoints store, for rental cars, holidays or to pay for Koru Membership.

You can redeem your Airpoints Dollars for flights to over 1,300 Air New Zealand destinations in 190 countries. And the best thing is, there's no limit to how many Airpoints Dollars you can earn.
How are Airpoints Dollars different to Membership Rewards points?
Your Airpoints Credit Card will be linked to your Air New Zealand Airpoints account, or you will be automatically enrolled in the Air New Zealand Airpoints Programme when you are approved for an Airpoints Credit Card. You can then start earning Airpoints Dollars on all purchases you make using your Card, which will be added to your Airpoints balance each month. Airpoints Dollars can be redeemed for flights with Air New Zealand, for accommodation and car hire, as well as any purchases made from the Airpoints online store.
You are automatically enrolled in the Membership Rewards programme when you are approved for any of our Rewards Cards. Membership Rewards points are earned on all purchases you make with an American Express® Rewards Card. You can then redeem points for travel, gift cards, concert tickets and much more. You also have the flexibility to transfer Membership Rewards points to seven of our airline partner programmes.
What are Status Points?
Status Points are earned as part of the Air New Zealand Airpoints Programme. They allow you to climb tiers and enjoy benefits such as priority service, lounge access, seat upgrades and extra baggage allowance on your flights with Air New Zealand. - Priority PassTM. Your Priority Pass benefit will be limited to lounge access only. Non-lounge airport experiences in the form of food and beverage credits at restaurants, cafes and bars will no longer be available. To enjoy access to over 1,300 lounges in more than 140 countries, please visit www.prioritypass.com and log in for a list of available lounges. Subject to the Terms and Conditions of the Priority Pass™ program. Priority Pass is an independent airport lounge access program. Basic American Express Airpoints Platinum Card Members are entitled to two complimentary visits within each 12-month membership period, after which every visit would be charged to your American Express Card as per the prevailing rates available at www.prioritypass.com. Some lounges do not admit guests. To access participating Priority Pass lounges, present your Priority Pass card and confirmed airline boarding pass. All entrants must adhere to the General Conditions of Entry. The American Express Airpoints Platinum Card Members are entitled to a total of two (2) entries into The Centurion® Lounges in Australia per calendar year (1 January to 31 December). Complimentary access is available for the Card Member’s children 17 years and younger. Card Members wishing to bring additional guests may be subject to a charge that is to be processed on the Card Member's American Express Card.

- Introductory Rate. Offer only available to new American Express Airpoints Card Members who apply and are approved.
