Membership Rewards programme
If your company has chosen to participate in the Membership Rewards programme, you’ll earn points for every dollar you spent1 on purchases, once enrolled. You’ll also have occasional opportunities to earn Bonus Points.
If you’re eligible to personally redeem your Membership Rewards points, you’ll have a range of rewards to choose from. This includes redeeming your points on gift cards from popular brands, transferring them to a range of airline frequent flyer and hotel guest programmes2, and more.

- Membership Rewards: Membership Rewards Programmes for Employees
a. Membership Rewards enrolment required (an annual fee applies). Subject to the Terms and Conditions of the Membership Rewards programme available at www.americanexpress.com/en-nz/rewards/membership-rewards/terms. Your company must allow participation in Membership Rewards to be eligible to enrol. You must enrol yourself and cannot delegate someone else in your company to do so on your behalf.
b. Refer to www.americanexpress.com/en-nz/rewards/membership-rewards/terms for current earn rates. Industry-specific earn rate may apply when you use a payment account, payment aggregator, services of a third party or online retailers that sell goods for another merchant. For example, a payment made to Local Government bodies processed through a payment aggregator may earn rates at the government earn rate.
c. There may be tax implications associated with your participation in the Membership Rewards programme. You are advised to check with your accountant or tax adviser for further information. - Airline Frequent Flyer & Hotels: To transfer Membership Rewards points into an Airline Rewards or Frequent Guest Partner Programme you must be enrolled in Membership Rewards and be a member of the Partner Programme. Membership of the Partner Programme is the Card Member's responsibility and is subject to the Terms and Conditions of the applicable Programme. A joining fee may apply.
