Artwork Rationale:

The words 'vibrant' and 'marketplace' both convey a sense of liveliness and energy. 'Vibrant' suggests something full of life, color, and vitality, while 'marketplace' evokes a bustling, lively atmosphere. Together, these words embody a shared meaning and energy, representing a space that is alive with activity and a sense of vitality.

Amidst the dynamic and diverse atmosphere of a marketplace, a sense of balance,
stillness and equilibrium is created. People from different backgrounds come together at a single place and time to share a common goal whether it may be to
exchange, to trade and/or to interact, fostering a sense of unity and togetherness.

My intention with this artwork was not to provide a literal interpretation of
the theme, but rather to evoke a particular feeling or emotional response.

My aim was to convey a sense of balance and tranquility, which is reflected in
the peaceful expressions of the figures depicted. The figures in the artwork
almost seem to be meditating, embodying a sense of peace and stillness amidst
the vibrant energy surrounding them.I chose blue as the central and unifying
colour to further enhance this feeling of calmness.

At the same time, I wanted to celebrate the diversity and vibrancy of the
subject matter by incorporating elements such as African-inspired patterns.
