One of the best ways to grow your business is to talk to other entrepreneurs – something that Suneel Gupta knows all about. On top of a bestselling book, regular keynotes, and a successful start-up, Suneel has clocked up hundreds of interviews and counting with extraordinary entrepreneurs– including Office Hours.
This live-chat series goes out regularly on our social channels. You’ll usually spot it first as a livestream on our @AmericanExpressBusiness Instagram, but it’s also served up on the Business Class website, as shorter edits on social media, and as podcasts on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
Suneel may be interviewing big names, but his skills could be applicable to everything from panel hosting to interviewing your next candidate. Keen to learn from the expert, we asked him what he loves most about hosting Office Hours. As he explained, he’s all about the stories.
“I really believe that each of us is a collection of our stories,” he explains, “and having an opportunity to understand these at a real level – not just what you might read in someone’s biography – is the best part about hosting this show.”
And with a batch of new episodes comes a brand-new collection of stories, which we’re looking forward to exploring. But what about Suneel – what’s he most excited about this time around?
“For me it’s the chance to have real conversations with people who have achieved at the highest level. But I’m not just talking about their success – I’m talking about their challenges, their failures, and specifically the habits they built to get them from point A to point B.”
Of course, Suneel explained how he turned failure into success when we talked to him about his book, Backable. And it seems we can expect more insights on this topic coming up in Office Hours.
“Failure is the area that we learn the most from. What I want to do in this show is not just talk about the successes but talk about the failures. Because as we know, failure is not necessarily the opposite of success. Failure can be a pathway to success.”
