FAQs
A: American Express Sync is a program designed for B2B software companies to embed American Express capabilities into their solutions. Currently, selected partners can embed virtual Cards with integrated transaction data.
A: Interested companies should send an email expressing interest to amexsync@aexp.com and a member of the program team will share the Partnership Application. If your application is approved, we will arrange a call to review the program, onboarding process, and next steps.
A: Successful partners offer unique value-added solutions to help commercial customers manage their businesses and control their spend. We work with companies offering a range of automation solutions, including (but not exclusively) Accounts Payable Automation, Expense Management, Spend Management, and Procurement. Partners will be evaluated and selected upon the basis of strategic fit, geographic focus, and program capacity. Due to product restrictions, we are currently only partnering with companies with operations in the United States.
A: Once approved, a partner’s engineering team will be given access to relevant products via APIs in the Amex for Developers website and be assigned an Integration Specialist, who will support the partner throughout the integration process until production launch.
A: Yes, partners may create marketing collateral to drive awareness of the integrated service with current and potential customers. All Sync partners receive a communications toolkit with resources to aid in marketing the integrated service with customers. All partner-generated collateral is subject to review and approval by American Express prior to use.
A: Partners may receive mentions in press or other communications about the American Express Sync Commercial Partner Program (with your consent) and be featured on the ‘Partners’ section of the program landing page. Partners may also be mentioned in industry events or other engagements in which American Express participates.
A: Partners should contact their Integration Specialist with any questions related to the integration and Alliance Manager with any general partnership inquiries.

1 To be eligible to participate in the American Express Sync Commercial Partner Program, partners must apply, be approved and execute a Partnership Agreement with American Express. Ability to integrate with new features may require an amendment to the Partnership Agreement.
2 To use on-demand virtual Cards, the American Express Customer must have an American Express Small Business Card, an American Express Corporate Purchasing Card, or an American Express Corporate Card. Separate enrollment with the Partner and American Express is required to utilize combined product offering. To make an American Express Card payment to a vendor through the Partner, the vendor must be an American Express accepting merchant. Eligible American Express Cards are subject to change.
