The challenge
A few years after its inception, LIFEAID Beverage Company’s fitness drink business really began to take off. Founders Aaron Hinde and Orion Melehan realized that to keep pace, they needed to improve their payments systems and increase their control over spending. They contacted American Express.
“With the American Express Corporate program, we get a tight read on where our dollars are going. We can analyze spending trends and look at things by department, even by employee… creating custom reports whenever we want.”
Aaron Hinde, President, LIFEAID Beverage Company
The solution
The American Express® Corporate program gave LIFEAID access to fast, efficient and effective management tools. Through American Express @ Work®1 they can set employee spending limits, create customized reports and uncover valuable insights about spending trends. The simple and intuitive @ Work1 interface helps make it easy for them to generate reports on demand to examine spending patterns by department, individual and other unique categories.
Their American Express® dedicated account manager helped Aaron and Orion tailor their rewards2 program to unlock benefits and incentives that worked best for their business, such as the Membership Rewards®3 points they use as an executive perk. Their account manager also worked closely with them to recommend new American Express® products and services that could scale to help support LIFEAID’s evolving business needs. This includes an accounts payable automation solution4 that helps to more efficiently manage the thousands of invoices they handle monthly.
The impact
Today, LIFEAID has five production facilities and sells millions of cans of their brands annually, including FITAID, a top seller in the U.S. They say American Express has been a big part of their growth, offering benefits and efficiencies every step of the way.
