We'll send you the new Companion Platinum Card® before your current Card expires or if you contact us to replace your Card. You can request a replacement Card if your Card is lost, stolen, or damaged.

Yes. You can continue to use your Additional Gold Card until you receive the Companion Platinum Card. We will send you the new Companion Platinum Card before your current Card’s expiration date or if you contact us to replace your Card. You can request a replacement Card if your Card is lost, stolen, or damaged.

No. The annual fee is $0 for Companion Platinum Cards.
You will begin to see the newly designed white Companion Platinum Card in the Amex® App, AmericanExpress.com, and in emails from American Express, even if you still have an Additional Gold Card in your wallet. You may continue to use your Additional Gold Card until you receive the new Companion Card before your current Card’s expiration date or in response to a replacement request for a lost, stolen, or damaged Card.
The Additional Platinum Card and the Companion Platinum Card are both types of Additional Cards on the Basic Platinum Card Member’s account. There is an annual fee for Additional Platinum Cards. There is no fee for Companion Platinum Cards. Additional Platinum Cards have many of the same benefits as the Platinum Card, some of which are not available with the Companion Platinum Cards.
No. Additional Platinum Card Members have the option to receive one of the following metal Card designs: classic Platinum, Platinum x Kehinde Wiley, or Platinum x Julie Mehretu.
