As a Programme Administrator, you oversee the day-to-day management of the American Express Corporate Programmes and form the link between your company and American Express. This is an important role and one that we want to make as easy as possible. This administration guide gives you the necessary information and contact details to manage the Corporate Card and/or Business Travel Account Programme. This guide will be your first port of call when you need answers about the set-up, day-to-day management and reporting options of your account.

Corporate Card Programme
The Corporate Card programme gives more control over (travel) expenses of your employees and cashflow benefit. It is an effective tool for managing business expenses of company employees. As Programme Administrator you will occasionally be required to carry out general administrative tasks as part of the ongoing maintenance of your Corporate Card Programme.

Business Travel Account (BTA)
The American Express BTA is designed to simplify the daily administration of all your travel documents and tickets. Held in the Company name, it is a centrally billed and paid account lodged at a Travel Agent of your choice, on which you book all your travel expenses. With one consolidated payment you can pay all your travel expenses. In this way you will avoid separate labour intensive invoices and thus saving both time and money.

This is how it works
- Make your reservation at your chosen travel agent.
- Choose Business Travel Account (BTA) as way of payment .
- Travel agent will sent you a pro-forma invoice with the booking details.
- Travel agent will supply American Express with the booking details.
- You pay all your travel expenses with one consolidated payment

Corporate Card Programme
Earn EuroBonus extra points
Corporate Cardmembers can connect their cards to their personal EuroBonus account and earn SAS EuroBonus Extra points on their corporate spend. This benefit needs to be approved by your company.
Travel Insurance
When travel arrangements are paid with American Express Corporate Card, the cardmember will recieve an insurance cover that complements their othe insurane politices and gives the cardmember extra security on their trips.
The insurance covers:
- Travel baggage
- Travel illness (not applicable in Norway)
- Travel accident
- Travel liability
- Cancellation, interruption or delay of holiday or journey

Global Assist 24/7
Global Assist provides a 24-hour emergency hotline for cardmembers and offers legal advice, medical advice and advice in emergency situations. Global Assist advice is free of charge for card members, but any additional cost will apply.

Travel Insurance
When travel arrangements are paid with American Express Business Travel Account, the traveller will recieve an insurance cover that complements their other insurance policies and gives extra security on the trip.
The insurance covers:
- Travel baggage
- Travel illness (not applicable in Norway)
- Travel accident
- Travel liability
- Cancellation, interruption or delay of holiday or journey

Corporate Card Programme
Invoice
Corporate Cardmembers are invoiced monthly. It shows the total amount to be paid, and the payment due date. The entire invoice amount is due for payment on the due date. As long as the full amount is paid on time, no interest fees will be charged. Purchases are stated in NOK on the invoice. If the card is used abroad, these amounts will be specified in both NOK and foreign currency.
Billing options available:
- Individual billing with either individual payment or company payment
- Central billing.

Making a payment
Cardmembers can choose to pay with e-invoice or a combination of e-Invoice and direct debit (AvtaleGiro). If cardmember choose to use direct debit, the invoice amount will automatically be deducted from their bank account.

Online Account
Cardmembers can set up an Account Online & register their Corporate Card. Once they login they have access to current transactions and monthly statements.
Online program management
American Express @Work is a tool that allows you to manage the Corporate Card expenses online. This is a tool to support you as Programme Administrator, that enables you to:
- View transactions
- Update cardmember information
- Check transaction statuses
- Pull reports in both standard and customizable formats
- View account information on summary and transaction level
- Get an overview of balances
- See expired invoices and age analyzes of debts

BTA Connect
BTA Connect is an American Express online platform, where you have access to your statement and transactions 24/7. You can download your transactions in invoice format with an easy click on PDF icon, and/or download your selected transactions in excel, CSV or XML for reconciliation.
Access and enrollment
If your Corporate Programme includes Business Travel Accounts, you will automatically be enrolled to BTA Connect.

Corporate Card Programme
Chip & PIN
The card is equipped with Chip & PIN technology. A PIN-code is generated randomly and sent to the cardmember in a separate envelope, to the correspondence address of the company or the cardmember. Standard delivery time is 10 business days. If the PIN-code is not delivered on time, cardmember should contact Customer Service. Cardmembers can view their PIN in the Online Portal.
Contactless
Contactless is a quick, secure and safe way to pay for anything up to 500 NOK with the American Express Corporate Card. Simply hold the card close to the reader, wait for the beep and you're done.

Authentication with American Express
To keep our cardmembers even more secure, we’ve introduced additional layers of security. When shopping online and when they login to their Online Account cardmembers may need to verify themselves more often.

More of SafeKey®
For cardmembers, SafeKey will appear more often during the checkout. SafeKey helps protect against fraud while shopping online by confirming it's really them making the purchase.
Express List keeps online checkout safe and simple
It’s a personalized list of online websites where the cardmember has previously used their card to make an online purchase.

Online Purchases
When making a purchase online, please be aware that the requested security digits are the four digits on the front of the card. These digits are found above the card number on the right-hand side.

Corporate Card Programme
It's possible to create a customized Corporate Card e-application with your Company's profile. Type of card, liability, monthly statement and payment, and contact details of the PA will be pre-populated fields on the customized application. To set up the online application with your Company's profile, please contact Customer Service.
- Once application is submitted and signed by your Company, American Express can start the process. Process takes up to 10 business days - including card delivery.
- If an application is declined, it will be notified in writing to the PA and to Card applicant within 5 days. Due to data protection reasons, we might not be able to disclose or discuss the reason for decline with anyone else than the applicant.
- The PIN code is generated randomly and sent to the Cardmember in a separate envelope, to the correspondence address of the company or the cardmember.
- If PIN-code is not delievered within 10 business days, please contact Customer Service.
Card activation
After receiving the Corporate Card, it should be activated and signed. To activate the Card, visit americanexpress.no/aktiver
Card validation
The standard validity period of the American Express Corporate Card is 4 years. The card expires on the last day of the "Valid Thru"-month displayed on the card. A renewal card will be automatically generated and should arrive no later than 2 weeks before the card expires. If renewal card is not received, please contact Customer Service.
Immediately contact Customer Service if card is suspected lost or stolen. American Express will block the card and issue a replacement card.
Card cancellation
To cancel a card, you can submit a request via @ Work Programme Management. These requests will be automatically updated into the system and you will be able to monitor all of your requests via Status Tracking. Please destroy the card when cancelled
Express Cash – cash withdrawal from ATMs
With the company’s consent, it is possible to activate an Emergency Cash service, to allow cash withdrawals from ATMs.
Spending limit
There are no pre-set spending limits on our Corporate Card. Cardmembers spending limit is based on factors including your current spending patterns, payment history, credit record and financial resources.
