1. Definitions
"Amex" means American Express International, Inc., its affiliates and licensees.
"Basic Program" means the American Express Membership Rewards Program with the Non-Frequent Traveler Rewards plus an earn rate of 1 point for every HK$1 charged and billed to the Card Account.
"Card" and "Card Account" means the Basic Card and account for any of the Hong Kong dollar Personal Cards (excluding Blue Cash® Credit Card from American Express, American Express® I.T Cashback Card, American Express Explorer® Credit Card and credit cards bearing the American Express name, brand or logo issued by DBS (Hong Kong) Limited and Business Cards.
"Cardmember" means a holder of an American Express® Card.
"Enrollment Date" means the date on which Amex process the application for enrollment in the Membership Rewards Program, either enrolling in Infinite Rewards Program, Platinum Foreign Currency Spend Accelerator Program, American Express Explorer® Credit Card Membership Rewards Program, American Express Essential® Credit Card Membership Rewards Program, Turbo Program or the Basic Program.
"Enrollment Year" means the period commencing on the Program Enrollment Date and ending on the last day of the twelfth (12th) month of the enrollment, and thereafter each successive twelve-(12) month period.
"Frequent Customer Program" means a participating airline's Frequent Flyer Program or a participating hotel's Frequent Guest Program.
"Frequent Traveler Rewards" means rewards obtained by transferring points to Frequent Customer Programs and such other rewards as may be added from time to time.
"Linked Accounts" means all eligible Card Accounts held by a Basic Cardmember which are enrolled in the Program and linked for the purpose of accruing points. Only Cards billed in the same currency may be linked. Amex will designate one of the linked Accounts as the "Primary Account."
"Non-Frequent Traveler Rewards" means all rewards provided through the Program other than Frequent Traveler Rewards including shopping, dining, entertainment, financial services, travel, unique experience rewards and such other rewards as may be added from time to time.
"Program" means the American Express Membership Rewards Program and includes the Infinite Rewards Program, Turbo Program, Platinum Foreign Currency Spend Accelerator Program,
American Express Explorer Credit Card Membership Rewards Program, American Express Essential Credit Card Membership Rewards Program, and the Basic Program."Program Account" means the Membership Rewards Program Account opened for a Cardmember.
"Infinite Rewards Program" means the American Express Membership Rewards Program for Centurion® members with the option to redeem Frequent Traveler Rewards plus an earn rate of 1.5 points for every HK$1 spent in Hong Kong and 3 points for every HK$1 equivalent spent in foreign currency.
“Business Gold Program” means the American Express Membership Rewards Program for the American Express Gold Business Card with the Frequent Traveler Rewards plus an earn rate of 2.5 points for every HK$1 spent on local transactions and 3 points for every HK$1 spent on foreign currency.
Local transactions are transactions settled in Hong Kong Dollars and made at merchants located in Hong Kong. Foreign currency spend has to be settled in a foreign currency. Foreign currency means any currency other than Hong Kong Dollars. If a transaction is converted into Hong Kong Dollars prior to being submitted to American Express International, Inc. (for example, if the merchant gives you the option of converting the transaction to Hong Kong Dollars at point of sale), foreign currency spend earn rate will not be applied on that spend. Payments for online transactions made in Hong Kong Dollars will also not be considered foreign currency spend. Foreign currency spend excludes charges for other fees.
"Turbo Program" means the American Express Membership Rewards Program for all Cardmembers except Centurion® Card members with the option to redeem Frequent Traveler Rewards plus an earn rate of 2 points for every HK$1 charged and billed to the Card Account. Double points are applicable to the first HK$160,000 spent for each program year. From HK$160,001 and onwards, every HK$1 spent will entitle to 1 point.
“ Platinum Foreign Currency Spend Accelerator Program” means the American Express Membership Rewards Program for The Platinum Card members with the option to redeem Frequent Traveler Rewards plus an earn rate of 1 point for every HK$1 spent in Hong Kong and 3 points for every HK$1 equivalent spent in foreign currency. The Platinum Card members are also eligible to participate in the Platinum Foreign Currency Spend Accelerator Program and Turbo Program at the same time.

If a transaction is converted into Hong Kong Dollars prior to being submitted to American Express, foreign currencies spend earn rate will not be applied on that spend. American Express Explorer® Credit Card Membership Rewards® Program Terms and Conditions
General Terms and Conditions:- This program is applicable to Cardmembers of American Express Explorer Credit Card issued by American Express International, Inc. (“American Express”) in Hong Kong (“Eligible Card”, such holder, "Eligible Cardmember").
- Foreign currencies spend has to be settled in a foreign currency. Foreign currency means any currency other than Hong Kong Dollars. If a transaction is converted into Hong Kong Dollars prior to being submitted to American Express, foreign currencies spend earn rate will not be applied on that spend. Payments for online transactions made in Hong Kong Dollars will also not be considered as foreign currencies spend. Foreign currencies spend excludes charges including but not limited to charges and other fees.
- American Express Membership Rewards points will accrue to the nearest dollar for each transaction.
- Eligible Cardmember may redeem Frequent Traveler Rewards where American Express Membership Rewards points may be converted into any one or more participating Frequent Customer Programs with no administration fee. Redeeming Frequent Traveler Rewards is subject to American Express Membership Rewards Terms and Conditions.
- For the avoidance of doubt, accumulation of spending for the program in each Eligible Cardmembers’ account (“Eligible Card Account”) shall also include the spending of Eligible Cards’ Supplementary Cards issued under that Eligible Card Account.
- Adjustments will be made to the points accrued in the Membership Rewards Program Account opened for Eligible Cardmember (“Program Account”) if there are any credits posted to the Program Account including those arising from returned goods or services or from billing disputes. If your earn rate changes, the new earn rate will apply to any credits posted regardless of the original earn rate for the purchase.

- American Express reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions, suspend or terminate the program at any time without prior notice.
- In case of any dispute, the decision of American Express shall be final.
- In the event of any inconsistency between the English and Chinese versions of these Terms and Conditions, the English version shall prevail.
- Eligible Cardmember will accrue 3 American Express Membership Rewards points for every eligible HK$1 billed to the Eligible Card, excluding transactions in local auction houses. Eligible Cardmember will accrue 1 American Express Membership Rewards points for every HK$1 billed to the Eligible Card in transactions in local auction houses. Up to 10.75X (*) on Foreign Currencies Spend:
- 3X on Foreign Currencies Spend”: Starting from July 1, 2024, Eligible Cardmembers will accrue 3 American Express Membership Rewards points for every eligible HK$1 equivalent billed to the Eligible Card in foreign currencies. Enrollment is not required.
- “0.75X Additional Bonusing (Offer 1)”: During the Overseas Spend Offers Promotional Period (as defined below) and after successfully completing the enrollment to Offer 1, the Enrolled Cardmembers (as defined below) will start earning additional 0.75 American Express Membership Rewards points for every HK$1 equivalent spent in foreign currencies from Eligible Transaction (as defined below).
- “7X Additional Bonusing (Offer 2)”: During the Overseas Spend Offers Promotional Period (as defined below) and after successfully completing the enrollment to Offer 2, the Enrolled Cardmembers (as defined below) will start earning additional 7 American Express Membership Rewards points for every HK$1 equivalent spent in the first HK$10,000 (or equivalent) in foreign currencies from Eligible Transaction (as defined below) billed to the Eligible Card during each calendar quarter (i.e. July 1 – September 30 or October 1 – December 31).
- Above Offer 1 and Offer 2 are collectively as “Overseas Spend Offers”, which are valid from July 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024, both dates inclusive (“Overseas Spend Offers Promotion Period”). The enrollment links will be available on go.amex/fx-spend-en starting from July 1, 2024 onwards.
- Eligible Cardmembers must successfully enroll in the Overseas Spend Offers with the Eligible Card during the Overseas Spend Offers Promotion Period (“Enrolled Cardmembers”), then spend in foreign currencies with the Eligible Card to enjoy the Overseas Spend Offers (“Eligible Transaction”), which shall be subject to any exclusions outlined in the American Express Membership Rewards Terms and Conditions or herein. For the avoidance of doubt, any spending/transaction that occurs prior to the successful enrollment is not counted as qualified/eligible transactions under the Overseas Spend Offers.
- A currency conversion fee applies when payment is charged in a currency other than Hong Kong Dollars and this fee does not count toward the Eligible Transaction.
- Un-posted/cancelled/refunded transactions and transactions that are found to be fraudulent or are eventually cancelled/refunded will be considered as ineligible transactions and shall be excluded from the Eligible Transaction.
- American Express is not responsible for any enrollment delays due to system instability. 2024 5X(#) on Airlines, Selected Online Merchants, Everyday Dining ("5X Offer"):
- 5X Offer on Airlines and Selected Online Merchants is valid from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024, both dates inclusive. 5X Offer on Everyday Dining, including (a) Selected Cafés and Eateries is valid from April 8, 2024 and/or October 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024, both dates inclusive and (b) Selected Bars and Restaurants is valid from July 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024, both dates inclusive. Each promotion period above shall be referred hereinafter as “5X Offer Promotion Period” respectively. The selected merchants for Airlines, Selected Merchants and/or Everyday Dining of 5X Offer are updated from time to time without prior notice. For the latest list, please click here for details.
- Eligible Cardmember must successfully enroll in the 5X Offer with the Eligible Card (“5X Offer Enrolled Cardmember”).
- American Express is not responsible for any enrollment delays due to system instability.
- 5X Offer Enrolled Cardmember will start earning additional 2 American Express Membership Rewards points for every eligible HK$1 spent on eligible airfare transactions for scheduled flights made directly with a passenger airline merchant (“Airline Bonusing”) after completing the enrollment successfully during the 5X Offer Promotion Period.

Airline Bonusing is not applicable if the transaction is:
i. made through via third-party payment. Your transaction will not be qualified if it is not made directly with the merchant. In addition, in most cases, you will not earn the additional 2 American Express Membership Rewards points if your transaction is made with an electronic wallet or through a third party including authorized retailers or resellers and online marketplaces or if the merchant uses a mobile or wireless card reader to process it, or
ii. made through via a third-party establishment (for example a booking of flight/ hotel stay package made via a 3rd party airline agent and payment is made at hotel counter upon check-out), or
iii. for charter flights or private jet flights, or
iv. for flights that are part of travel packages, tours, or cruises sold via an airline, or
v. for accommodation, car rental, or cruises bookings made via an airline, or
vi. for In-flight sales, or
vii. for Frequent Flyer Program. -
5X Offer Enrolled Cardmember will start earning additional 2 American Express Membership Rewards points for every eligible HK$1 spent at Selected Online Merchants under the following circumstances (“Selected Online Merchant Bonusing”) after completing the enrollment successfully during the 5X Offer Promotion Period:
a) On eligible transactions made on the selected merchant’s Hong Kong website (website location preference as Hong Kong or domain ending with .com.hk or .hk or /hk) (“Hong Kong Website”) of selected travel and everyday spend merchants made in Hong Kong dollars. Please click here for details; or
b) On eligible transactions made through the website of selected merchants without a designated Hong Kong Website but the transaction is made in Hong Kong dollars
c) Selected Merchant Bonusing is not applicable if the transaction is
i. made through via third-party payment. Your transaction will not be qualified if it is not made directly with the merchant. In addition, in most cases, you will not earn the American Express Membership Rewards points if your transaction is made with an electronic wallet or through a third party including authorized retailers or resellers and online marketplaces or if the merchant uses a mobile or wireless card reader to process it, or
ii. made through via a third-party establishment (for example a booking of flight/ hotel stay package made via a 3rd party airline agent and payment is made at hotel counter upon check-out) -
5X Offer Enrolled Cardmember will start earning additional 2 American Express Membership Rewards points for every eligible HK$1 spent at Everyday Dining under the following circumstances (“Everyday Dining Bonusing”) after completing the enrollment successfully during the 5X Offer Promotion Period:
a) Unless otherwise specified, Everyday Dining Bonusing is only applicable to transactions made directly in-person at the physical stores of the Everyday Dining Merchants.
b) Everyday Dining Bonusing is not applicable if the transaction is made via third-parties (e.g. meal delivery services). - For Airline Bonusing, Selected Online Merchant Bonusing, Everyday Dining Bonusing, please note that we assign codes to merchants based on what they primarily sell. We group certain merchant codes into categories that are eligible for additional rewards. A purchase with a merchant will not earn additional rewards if the merchant’s code is not included in a rewards category. You may not receive additional rewards if we receive inaccurate information or are otherwise unable to identify your purchase as eligible for a reward category. For questions about additional rewards on a purchase, call the number on the back of your Eligible Card.
- The additional 2 American Express Membership Rewards points for every HK$1 spending incurred from 5X Offer (including Airline Bonusing, Selected Online Merchant Bonusing, Everyday Dining Bonusing) are capped at extra 90,000 Membership Rewards points in total per Eligible Card Account (as defined in Clause 5) for each calendar quarter (i.e. January 1 – March 31, April 1 – June 30, July 1 – September 30 and October 1 – December 31). - . Eligible Cardmember will accrue 2.5 American Express Membership Rewards points for every HK$1 billed to the Eligible Card; and accrue 3 American Express Membership Rewards points for every HK$ 1 (or equivalent) on foreign currencies spend billed to the Eligible Card.

"Points + $" redemption means a redemption made under the American Express Membership Rewards Program through the use of Points and payment charged to the Cardmember's Card.
2. Eligibility and Enrollment
2.1 Participation in the Program is open to all Personal and Business Card members whose Card Accounts are billed in Hong Kong dollars (excluding Blue Cash® Credit Card from American Express, American Express® I.T Cashback Card and credit cards bearing the American Express name, brand or logo issued by DBS (Hong Kong) Limited).
2.2 The Basic and Turbo Programs are applicable to Cardmembers of American Express® Card, American Express® Credit Card, American Express® Gold Card, American Express® Gold Credit Card, American Express® Peninsula Platinum Card, American Express® Peninsula Gold Card and American Express® Business Card. Enrolment in the Basic Program is automatic upon Card approval by Amex.
2.3 Infinite Rewards Program, Platinum Foreign Currency Spend Accelerator Program, American Express Platinum Credit Card Membership Rewards program, American Express Explorer Credit Card Membership Rewards Program and American Express Essential Credit Card Membership Rewards Program are applicable to Cardmembers of specific Personal Cards only, i.e. Centurion® Card, The Platinum Card®, American Express® Platinum Credit Card, American Express Explorer® Credit Card and American Express Essential ® Credit Card respectively. They are not applicable to Business Cardmembers, Corporate Cardmembers and US$ Cardmembers.
2.4 Business Gold Program is only applicable to American Express Business Gold Cardmembers.
2.5 Cardmembers are automatically enrolled in the Programs mentioned in 2.3 and 2.4 upon Card approval by Amex.
2.6 Except as otherwise restricted herein, all Cardmembers enrolled in the Program may redeem Non-Frequent Traveler Rewards. Cardmembers who enrolled in the Infinite Rewards Program, Platinum Foreign Currency Spend Accelerator Program, American Express Platinum Credit Card Membership Rewards program, American Express Explorer Credit Card Membership Rewards Program, American Express Essential Credit Card Membership Rewards Program, Business Gold Program or Turbo Program may also redeem Frequent Traveler Rewards.
2.7 Points earned by any additional Cards will automatically accrue to the Basic Card Account. Additional Cards cannot be enrolled separately from the Basic Card.
2.8 Line of Credit Accounts, Business Travel Accounts and other non-Card Accounts are not eligible to participate.
2.9 Only Linked Accounts in good standing (i.e. not overdue or in collection) at the Enrollment Date are eligible for enrollment.3. Fees
3.1 Membership Rewards Turbo Program There is an annual fee of HK$240 for a Personal or Green Card Business Cardmember to participate in the Turbo Program. This may be waived for Platinum Card members at the absolute discretion of Amex.
3.2 Membership Rewards Basic Program
There is no annual fee for the Personal Cards or Business Cards for participation in the Basic Program.
3.3 Amex will bill the Cardmember's Account on the first day of the month of Enrollment Date and automatically annually thereafter (except in the case of reinstatement, where it will be billed on the reinstatement date). The fee is non-refundable unless the Cardmember requests cancellation of enrollment no later than 30 days after the anniversary date. Amex will cancel enrollment if the fee is not paid within 45 days after the date of the statement on which the fee is first billed.
3.4 Membership Rewards Business Gold Program There is no annual fee for the Gold Business Cards for participation in this program.4. Points Accrual
4.1 Every eligible Card enrolled in the Program will accrue either (a) 1 point for the Basic Program, (b) 2 points for the Turbo Program with a cap of 160,000 points given in each program year, (c) 2.5 points (Hong Kong dollar local transaction spend) / 3 points (foreign currency spend) for the Business Gold Program, (d) 3 points for the Platinum Foreign Currency Spend Accelerator Program for foreign currency spend or (e) 1.5 points (Hong Kong dollar spend) / 3 points (foreign currency spend) for the Infinite Rewards Program, without cap in the Program Account for every HK$1 charged and billed on the Cardmember's Linked Accounts (except that for the Credit Card, points will accrue in respect of charges when billed provided the minimum payment is kept current) and subject to the following exclusions:0.5 points (Hong Kong dollar spend) for every HK$1 (or equivalent) will be accrued for the purchase and/or reload of stored value facilities or cards (including top-up transactions via mobile wallets or any other methods) on Cardmembers' Card Account.
No points accrue in respect of:
(a) Charges processed and billed prior to the Enrollment Date
(b) American Express Card annual fee
(c) Gold Card Draft, Cash Advance and other cash services
(d) American Express Travelers Cheque purchases
(e) American Express Gift Cheque or Travel Gift Certificate purchases
(f) Charges for dishonored cheques
(g) Finance charges-including Gold Card Line of Credit charges and Credit Card account finance charges
(h) Late payment and referral charges
(i) Tax refunds from overseas purchases
(j) Tax Bill payment
(k) Payment portion under "Points + $" redemption items
4.2 No points will be accrued for any utility gas and electricity payment on Cardmembers' Card Accounts and Linked Accounts.
4.3 If the Cardmember has both a Basic HK$ and a Basic US$ Card account billed from Hong Kong, points will accrue separately into two different Program Accounts: a HK$ Program Account including all HK$ Linked Accounts and a US$ Program Account including all US$ Linked Accounts.
4.4 Adjustments will be made to the points accrued in a Program Account if there are any credits posted to a Linked Account including those arising from returned goods or services or from billing disputes.
4.5 Points accrued in a Program Account are not the property of the Cardmember and are non transferable, whether by operation of law or otherwise, either to any other person or entity or Program Account.
4.6 Points accrued in the Program Account have no cash or monetary value. .
4.7 Points (including any bonus Points) accrued for charges in a monthly statement will be forfeited if Amex does not receive the full payment or the minimum payment for any Card (as may be applicable as set out in the relevant Cardmember Agreement) by the due date specified in that monthly statement (a ''Missed Payment''). Any deduction of Points for a Missed Payment will be reflected in future statements. Notwithstanding the foregoing, after the Cardmember settles the Missed Payment in full, the Cardmember may request that Amex reinstates the relevant deducted Points provided the Card Account has not been suspended or cancelled, and no more than 90 days have lapsed from the due date of that Missed Payment. If Amex approves such a request for reinstatement, a reinstatement fee of HK$50 will be charged to the Card Account. A separate reinstatement fee will also be payable in respect of each Card Account, and for each billing period for which Points are reinstated.5. Points Expiration
5.1 Infinite Rewards Program Points, Platinum Foreign Currency Spend Accelerator Program, American Express Explorer Credit Card Membership Rewards Program, Turbo Program Points & Business Gold Program There is no expiry date for points earned by Infinite Rewards Program, Platinum Foreign Currency Spend Accelerator Program, Turbo Program or Business Gold Program enrollees while participating in the Program provided, however, Amex reserves the right to institute an expiry date for points whether points have been already accrued or accrued thereafter. If a Infinite Rewards Program, Platinum Foreign Currency Spend Accelerator Program, American Express Explorer Credit Card Membership Rewards Program, Turbo Program or Business Gold Program enrollee later cancels enrollment, points already earned that have not been redeemed for rewards or transferred to any participating Frequent Customer Program can be carried over for up to 30 days after cancellation.
5.2 Basic Program Points
There is no expiry date for points earned by Basic Program enrollees while participating in the Program, provided, however, Amex reserves the right to institute an expiry date for points whether points have been already accrued or accrued thereafter. If a Basic Program enrollee later cancels enrollment, points already earned that have not been redeemed for rewards can be carried over for up to 30 days after cancellation.
5.3 Basic Program Points Transferred to Turbo Program If Basic Program enrollees later enroll in the Turbo Program, there will be no expiry date for points already earned in the Enrollment Year they transfer enrollment to the Turbo Program, provided that they pay an "Upgrade Fee" of HK$150. However, if they use up all points already accrued before transferring to the Turbo Program, no Upgrade Fee will be charged.6. Notice of Accumulated Points
Amex will notify the Basic Cardmember in the monthly Card statement or Credit Card statement of the Primary Account of the number of points accrued at the statement date.7. Points Redemption
7.1 Points may be converted or redeemed provided all enrolled Linked Accounts are in good standing at the time of the redemption request (including a request to transfer points to participating Frequent Customer Programs). Any Linked Account or Card Account being more than thirty (30) days overdue is not in good standing and will cause the Program Account to be suspended so that no points may be converted or redeemed. To resume conversion or redemption of the points, the Cardmember has to restore all Linked Accounts to good standing by paying down the overdue amount of each Linked Account.
7.2 Points accrued in the Cardmember's Program Account can only be redeemed by the Basic Cardmember.
7.3 By redeeming a reward, the Cardmember releases Amex, its subsidiaries and affiliates from any and all liability regarding the redemption or use of any reward, or other participation in the Program.
7.4 Any dispute concerning goods or services received as a reward under the Program shall be settled between the Cardmember and the Service Establishment which supplied the goods or services. Amex will bear no responsibility for resolving such disputes, or for the dispute itself.
7.5 Amex is not responsible for lost or stolen rewards, reward vouchers, certificates or tickets.
7.6 Redeemed rewards are not exchangeable for other rewards, or not refundable, replaceable, or transferable for cash or credit under any circumstances.
7.7 Once accrued points in a Cardmember's Program Account have been redeemed for any reward in the Program including a transfer of points to a participating Frequent Customer Program, such points cannot be transferred back into the Cardmember's Program Account.
7.8 Information supplied on the redemption of certain rewards may be used by Amex or the Service Establishments that provide the rewards for administrative and marketing purposes.
7.9 Amex reserves the right to cancel, change or substitute the rewards or the reward conditions at any time with or without notice.
7.10 When you make a purchase through American Express TLS HK Limited (either online or offline), Pay with Points cannot be used in conjunction with cash vouchers.8. Redeeming Non-Frequent Traveller Rewards
8.1 All rewards are subject to availability and certain restrictions may apply. The redemption procedure and the Terms & Conditions of each reward are set forth in the rewards voucher issued to the Cardmember.
8.2 Any additional meals, transportation or accommodation arrangements made in connection with any reward will be the sole responsibility of the Cardmember.
8.3 In the event that the reward takes the form of a privilege card or a cash voucher, should the Cardmember purchase goods or services in excess of the value noted on the cash voucher, the Cardmember must use the Card or cash to settle payment or the difference to the participating Service Establishment.
8.4 Unless otherwise specified, the shopping reward in the form of a privilege card or a cash voucher cannot be used in association with other special offers offered by the Service Establishments or during sales.
8.5 Unless otherwise specified, all dining rewards which take the form of a set menu, are inclusive of service charge but not inclusive of alcoholic drinks and other beverages.
8.6 Issuance of a dining or travel rewards voucher does not constitute a reservation. The rewards voucher holder is responsible for making all reservations and notifying the participating Service Establishments of the reward(s) they are going to redeem.
8.7 Other American Express Card benefits (e.g. the Purchase Protection Plan) which are activated by Card use, do not apply to goods or services received as rewards under the Program.9. Redeeming Frequent Traveller Rewards
9.1 Points may be converted into any one or more participating Frequent Customer Programs.
9.2 To convert accrued points to any participating Frequent Customer Program the Cardmember must first join or be a member of the relevant Frequent Customer Program. Enrollment in such Program(s) is the Cardmember's responsibility.
9.3 The conversion rates for points into participating Frequent Customer Programs, minimum point transfers and incremental transfers vary among participating Frequent Customer Programs and details are communicated on a regular basis. In any event Cardmembers should telephone the Membership Rewards Hotline for up-to-date details.
9.4 For each air mile conversion, an administration fee of HK$400 will apply. It is not applicable to Centurion® Card, American Express Explorer® Credit Card, American Express® Gold Corporate Card and American Express® Corporate Card.
9.5 Cardmembers are subject to and must comply with the Terms & Conditions applying to participating Frequent Customer Programs in which they are enrolled.
9.6 Amex assumes no responsibility for Points converted from a Cardmember's Program Account into a participating Frequent Customer Program or for the actions of any participating airline or hotel in connection with its Frequent Customer Program or otherwise.
9.7 Participation and availability of any Frequent Customer Program(s) is subject to change with or without prior notice.
9.8 American Express Card travel insurance and benefits, including but not limited to those listed below, will not apply to flights taken with Frequent Flyer tickets, including Frequent Flyer tickets obtained by using Points converted from a Program Account:- Travel Accident Insurance

* Upon successful enrollment in and fulfillment of the below Overseas Spend Offers, Cardmembers may earn up to 10.75 American Express Membership Rewards points for every HK$1 equivalent on eligible foreign currencies spend billed to the Eligible Card.
# 5X including the 3 American Express Membership Rewards points earned under the above local spend and the additional 2 American Express Membership Rewards points earned under either Airline Bonusing or Selected Online Merchant Bonusing or Everyday Dining Bonusing (as defined below).
American Express Essential Credit Card Membership Rewards
Program is applicable to Cardmembers of American Express Essential Credit Card issued by American Express International, Inc. (“American Express”) in Hong Kong (“Eligible Card”, such holder, "Eligible Cardmember").
Cardmember insurance and travel benefit Programs expressly offering an option for Frequent Flyer ticket coverage are an exception to the foregoing, but only if the Cardmember has enrolled in such and has paid the fee for, and otherwise complied with the Terms & Conditions of the particular Program.
10. Program Account
10.1 If any Linked Account is not in good standing, the Cardmember's enrollment in the Program may be cancelled or points accrued in the Program Account may be forfeited. A Cardmember's enrollment in the Program may also be cancelled or points accrued may be forfeited due to the Cardmember's failure to adhere to the Terms & Conditions governing the Card Account or the Program.
10.2 If a Cardmember cancels all Basic Cards, or for any reason Amex cancels any Linked Account(s), Program Account(s) which are related to the cancelled Card Account(s) shall be terminated at the same time and any points accrued in the Program Account will be forfeited on the date of account termination, unless the Cardmember qualifies under Clause 10.3. If a Cardmember instructs to cancel his/her enrollment in the Program, all points accrued in the Program Account which have not been redeemed or converted in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of the Program shall, after 30 days from the time we receive instructions, be forfeited.
10.3. If an eligible Cardmember who has more than one Basic Card Account, voluntarily cancels any such Card Account and at least one Basic Card Account remains, any points accrued in the Program as a result of charges billed to the cancelled Card may be transferred to any remaining Card Account (excluding Blue Cash®Credit Card from American Express, American Express Explorer Credit Card, American Express® I.T Cashback Card and credit cards bearing the American Express name, brand or logo issued by DBS (Hong Kong) Limited in his or her name.11. General 11.1 Amex assumes no responsibility for any loss of whatever nature resulting from the redemption of either Frequent Traveler or Non-Frequent Traveler Rewards. 11.2 Amex can suspend or terminate the Program at any time it deems necessary. In such a case, Amex shall give advance written notice to Basic Cardmembers.
11.3 Amex reserves the right to change the Program Terms & Conditions at any time.
11.4 Fraud and abuse relating to the earning of points in the Program or redemption of rewards, including a transfer of points to participating Frequent Customer Programs, may result in forfeiture of accrued points as well as cancellation of a Cardmember's Program Account.
11.5 All questions or disputes regarding eligibility for the Program or the eligibility of points for accrual or redemption of rewards including transfer of points to a participating Frequent Customer Program, will be resolved by Amex at its sole discretion.
11.6 The Program Account is not transferable.
11.7 Amex's failure to enforce a particular Term or Condition does not constitute a waiver of that Term or Condition by Amex.
