CFOs in HK still see Asia as powerhouse for growth and China is the key driver

According to the 9th annual American Express/CFO Research Global business and Spending Monitor, 96% of respondents expect a modest change or no growth to the economy in Hong Kong in 2016.

Although HK respondents’ economic confidence level hit four-year-low, CFOs in HK still see Asia as powerhouse for growth and China is the key driver. More than two-thirds of CFOs are still looking to expand their workforce this year. In addition, over half of the respondents are considering using temporary or contract workers to fill out the talent gap.

CFOs also shared that they are looking for smarter cash flow management to tackle the challenge.

The survey contains responses from 651 senior finance executives from a wide range of industries and from companies with an annual turnover of US$500 million or above around the world. The research included respondents from Asia, U.S., Europe, Canada, Latin America and Australia. The survey was carried out in November 2015.
