You’ve reached 30,000 American Express Membership Rewards points¹, giving you access to retail, travel, and technology benefits from our array of partners.
Reaching this milestone could be a great opportunity to show appreciation to employees, suppliers, or clients – or you might prefer to get something new for you or your business. There are plenty of rewards to choose from.
Cardmembers earn points on every whole £1 spent with an American Express® Business Gold Card² and, depending on where you decide to spend it, 30,000 points is worth an average of £120-£150.
Here we take a look at the many ways you can make the most of your points balance.

Reward your employees and clients
Thank valued employees for their hard work with a gift card from a variety of retailers. You could exchange 30,000 points for three £50 Selfridges gift cards that employees can use to treat themselves – for instance, they could enjoy some delicacies from the famous Selfridges Foodhall, or perhaps treat themselves to a fragrance or beauty product.
Or how about toasting your team’s success with a £150 gift card from wine specialist Laithwaite’s? You could have an exclusive case of wine delivered just to them, or you could treat the wider team by ordering a case to the office and sharing it out.
Remember, you can make purchases from our partner sites through SafeKey®³, where you can redeem 30,000 Membership Rewards points securely against what you buy.
Treat yourself to something special
Take time out to recognise and reward yourself for how hard you work. How about swapping your 30,000 points for £135 worth of John Lewis goods? For example, you could treat yourself to an Eastpak Transit’R 2-Wheel 67cm medium suitcase, some wearable tech, or even a new outfit.
If you could do with some pampering, check out online beauty retailer Allbeauty – where 30,000 points are currently worth £135 – and show your skin some love. Alternatively, check out TK Maxx, which sells designer clothes and homeware at a lower cost – 30,000 points will give you £135 worth of spending power.
Upgrade your business tech
With 30,000 points, you can afford to smarten up your business tech. Currys sells a range of work-related gadgets – with the £135 value that your 30,000 points equate to, maybe it’s time to invest in a wireless speaker, or perhaps the Samsung F24T350FHR 24” Full HD LED monitor, which can be used for both work and games.
Redeem points on business travel
You can put 30,000 points towards your next airline trip, Eurostar journey or hotel stay run by our loyalty partners and use the points up whenever you’re ready⁴.
Remember: if you’re transferring 30,000 points to book a flight or hotel room, check the availability and points needed before completing the transfer, as all transfers are final. Transferring 30,000 points to our loyalty partners gives you between £300 and £900.
Ways to reach 30,000 Membership Rewards points
If you’ve not yet collected 30,000 Membership Rewards points, there are many ways to increase your balance, simply by using your American Express Business Gold Card.
Switch your bill payments, so they are made from your card. By paying for your gas, electricity, insurance, internet and phone costs, plus any professional subscriptions, you will quickly rack up points, as every £1 you spend equals one Membership Rewards point.
You could also invite your friends to apply for the card that best suits them. Once they are approved, you’ll receive bonus Membership Rewards points – the quantity depends on the type of card you hold.
Membership Rewards points don’t expire, and the amount you can earn isn’t capped, meaning that you’ll always be able to use your points towards business-related costs and treat employees – and yourself.
