American Express Travel Online
American Express Travel is all about choice and flexibility. With a huge selection of great value flights, destinations, hotels and even car rental to choose from, your perfect holiday is just a few clicks away. You can even pay for your travel, including taxes, with your Membership Rewards® points with no booking fee.
And when you book prepaid eligible hotels or car rentals through American Express Travel Online, you can also earn 1 additional point for every $1 you charge to your Card.22
1. $200 Annual Travel Credit – The $200 CAD Annual Travel Credit can only be redeemed at time of booking through American Express Travel Online at americanexpress.ca/travel or by calling Platinum Card Travel Service. Travel booking must be charged to your Platinum Card. Account must be in good standing. If you choose to redeem the Travel Credit, it will be credited to your Card account within 2 business days. Basic Cardmember is entitled to one (1) Annual Travel Credit each year based on Card membership anniversary date, towards a single travel booking of $200 or more, and will appear on your billing statement as “Platinum Annual Travel Credit”. The Annual Travel Credit must be redeemed within the same anniversary year it is issued, and it cannot be carried forward to any subsequent year. If you cancel your travel booking after redeeming the Annual Travel Credit, you will not be able to redeem it again in the same year. You can only redeem one Travel Credit per booking.
2. $100 NEXUS Card Statement Credit – American Express® Platinum Cardmembers are eligible to receive up to $100 CAD in statement credits every four (4) years for application or renewal fees for the NEXUS program when charged to an eligible Card. Cardmembers will receive statement credits for their total spend on NEXUS fees rounded down to the nearest dollar, up to a maximum of $100 CAD in cumulative statement credits, per account per four (4) year period, regardless of whether the NEXUS fees are charged on the Basic or Supplementary Card. American Express will not provide additional statement credits once the maximum of $100 CAD in cumulative statement credits have been issued for subsequent NEXUS application or renewal fees charged to the same eligible Card within the same four (4) year period even if the original application is rejected. For existing Cardmembers as of September 1, 2021, the first four (4) year period runs from September 1, 2021 until August 31, 2025. For new Cardmembers after September 1, 2021, the first four (4) year period runs from the initial Card anniversary date until the day before the fourth (4th) Card anniversary date. In either case, each subsequent four (4) year period follows the period that immediately preceded it. American Express has no control over the application and/or approval process for the NEXUS program and does not have access to any information provided to the government by the Cardmember or by the government to the Cardmember. American Express has no liability regarding the NEXUS program. The NEXUS program is run by CBSA and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection independently (without administration by American Express). The NEXUS program is subject to change, and American Express has no control over those changes.
3. Pearson Priority Security Lane – American Express Basic and Supplementary Cardmembers with an eligible Card are entitled to access the Pearson Priority Lanes (“Priority Lanes”). The Priority Lanes are serviced by the Greater Toronto Airport Authority. Priority Lanes are located at select departure areas at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport in Terminals 1 & 3. Access to a Pearson Priority Lane is available to eligible Canadian Cardmembers and companions travelling on the same itinerary. The eligible Cardmember can request single-use QR Codes online by visiting go.amex/yyz. For assistance, please call the phone number on the back of your card. Access to the Priority Lanes is intended for the Basic and Supplementary Cardmember and a reasonable number of persons travelling with them on the same itinerary. If we determine, in our sole discretion, that a Cardmember (or Supplementary Cardmember, as applicable) is not using this benefit as intended, we reserve the right to revoke your access to the benefit or to cancel your Card account. All passengers departing from Pearson International Airport, including those accessing the Priority Lane, are required to comply with airport security and customs screening requirements. Priority Lanes access is subject to change or cancellation at any time and additional terms and conditions apply.
4. Toronto Pearson Valet Service – Basic and Supplementary Platinum Cardmembers must charge the parking fee to their Platinum Card for the associated Valet fee to be waived. Waived fee applies only to Toronto Pearson Airport Valet Services in Terminal 1. For more information on Valet Service, visit torontopearson.com.
5. Toronto Pearson 15% Parking Discount – 15% discount off the cost of parking (including taxes) will be provided as a credit to your Platinum Card statement. The parking lot is subject to availability. Discount available at Express Park in Terminal 1 and Daily Park in Terminals 1 & 3. 15% discount cannot be used when reserving parking on Greater Toronto Airport Authority’s (GTAA) Parking Reservation system or in conjunction with any other offers or discounts offered by GTAA. 6. Toronto Pearson Discounted Car Care – Car Care services must be charged to your eligible Platinum Card. 15% discount off cost of Car Care services (including taxes) will be provided as a statement credit. Only Canadian American Express Cards are eligible for the Car Care services. Subject to availability. Access to the Car Care services is available in Terminal 1 on level 5 of the Daily Park garage. 7. International Airline Program – The discount applies to the base airfare of the ticket(s). All ticket(s) are subject to government imposed taxes, fees and airline-imposed fuel, security surcharges and mandatory non-refundable fees. All ticket(s) purchased through the program will have all valid fare rules and restrictions apply. Tickets will only be refundable if the ticket purchased is in a refundable fare class. Airlines reserve right to modify fare rules and program participation prior to booking. Tickets are non-transferable or endorsable. To receive the discount, the purchase of the qualifying First, Business, or Premium Economy Class ticket(s) on a participating airline must be made over the phone through Platinum Travel or online at American Express Travel and paid in full with an American Express Card in the Platinum Cardmember’s name. Travel must originate in and return to select Canadian gateways. One-way travel permitted on some airlines. Available service classes in First, Business or Premium Economy where applicable are subject to airline availability. Cardmember and up to seven additional First, Business or Premium Economy Class passengers must travel together on same air itinerary. Not combinable with any other promotion and may not be available on all participating airline’s code-share partners, i.e., flights marketed by the ticketing airline but operated by its code-share partner. Participating airlines and benefits are subject to change. Limited time airline flash sales and private sale fare offers are excluded.
8. The Centurion® Lounge – Platinum Cardmembers have complimentary access to all locations of The Centurion Lounge. Supplementary Gold Cards on Platinum accounts are not eligible for complimentary access. Cardmembers may bring up to two (2) companions into many of The Centurion Lounge locations. Children under 2 years of age are not considered companions and will be admitted free of charge, provided an accompanying parent or guardian is able to produce a “lap infant” boarding pass or proof of age. Guest access policies may vary internationally by location and are subject to change. To access The Centurion Lounge, the Platinum Cardmember must present The Centurion Lounge agent with the following upon each visit: his or her valid Platinum Card or valid Supplementary Platinum Card, a boarding pass showing a confirmed reservation for same-day travel on any carrier and a government-issued I.D. Failure to present this documentation may result in access being denied. Platinum Cardmembers will only be granted access to the lounge within 3 hours of boarding pass departure time. This does not apply to Cardmembers with a same-day connecting flight who can access the lounge any time prior to departure of their connecting flight with proof of boarding pass. Platinum Cardmembers will not be granted access to the lounge with a boarding pass for a flight that has landed as the final destination. Platinum Cardmembers will not be compensated for changes in locations, rates or policies. The Platinum Cardmember must be at least 18 years of age to enter without a parent or legal guardian. For locations with a self-service bar, the Platinum Cardmember must be of legal drinking age in the location’s jurisdiction to enter without a parent or legal guardian. Must be of legal drinking age to consume alcoholic beverages. Please drink responsibly. American Express reserves the right to remove any person from the Lounge for inappropriate behavior or failure to adhere to rules, including, but not limited to, conduct that is disruptive, abusive or violent. Soliciting other Cardmembers for access into our lounge is not permissable. Access is subject to space availability. Hours may vary by location and are subject to change. Amenities vary among The Centurion Lounge locations and are subject to change. Services and amenities in the Lounge are complimentary, however you are responsible for any purchases and/or servicing charges you authorize our Member Services Professionals to perform on your behalf. Some American Express Cards are not eligible for all services provided by Member Services Desk. American Express will not be liable for any articles lost or stolen or damages suffered by the purchaser or visitor inside The Centurion Lounge. If we in our sole discretion determine that you have engaged in abuse, misuse, or gaming in connection with lounge access in any way or that you intend to do so, we may remove access to The Centurion Lounge from the Account. 9. Priority Pass™ – These Terms and Conditions govern Platinum Card participation in and use of the Priority Pass program. Priority Pass is an independent airport lounge access program. At any visit to a Priority Pass lounge that admits guests, you may bring in one (1) guest for no charge. Platinum Cardmembers will be charged for any additional guests. Additional accompanying guests are subject to a usage fee at the prevailing rate, which is subject to change without prior notice. Some lounges do not admit guests. By enroling in Priority Pass, you agree that you will be responsible for any additional accompanying guest visits and that your Platinum Card will be automatically charged after you have signed for the additional guest visit and it has been reported to Priority Pass by the participating lounge. Additionally, American Express will verify your Card account number and provide updated Card account information to Priority Pass. Priority Pass will use this information to fulfill on the Priority Pass program. Once your enrolment has been processed, Priority Pass will send you a welcome package, Priority Pass card and a list of participating lounges. For details on how Priority Pass uses your personal information, please refer to their privacy policy at prioritypass.com. Once enroled, Platinum Cardmembers whose Card account is not cancelled may access participating Priority Pass lounges by presenting their Priority Pass card and airline boarding pass for same-day travel. In some lounges, Priority Pass member must be 21 years of age to enter without a parent or guardian. Priority Pass members must adhere to all house rules of participating lounges. Amenities may vary among airport lounge locations. Conference rooms, where available, may be reserved for a nominal fee. Priority Pass lounge partners and locations are subject to change. All Priority Pass members must adhere to the Priority Pass Conditions of Use, which will be sent to you with your membership package and can be viewed at www.prioritypass.com. Upon receipt of your enrolment information, Priority Pass will send your Priority Pass card and membership package which you should receive within 10–14 business days. If you have not received the Priority Pass card after 14 business days, please contact Platinum Card Service using the number on the back of your Platinum Card. Please note, Supplementary Gold Cardmembers are not eligible for membership. Priority Pass non-lounge airport experiences such as airport dining credits are only offered in a few select locations. 10. Plaza Premium Lounges – Platinum Cardmembers have complimentary access .to Plaza Premium Lounges. Supplementary Gold Cards on Platinum accounts are not eligible for complimentary access. Platinum Cardmembers may bring in one (1) travel companion as a complimentary guest. Fees apply for additional guests. Guest must accompany the Platinum Cardmember. To access a lounge, Platinum Cardmember and eligible guest(s) must show a valid, unexpired eligible Platinum Card, confirmed boarding pass for same-day travel and government-issued photo identification in the name of the Platinum Cardmember/guest(s). International Plaza Premium Lounges, maximum of 2-hour stay. House rules, terms and conditions apply. Lounge access is subject to availability. Unless otherwise stated, lounge access cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or benefit and is subject to change or cancellation at any time. 11. Delta Sky Club® - The Platinum Card® Cardmember must present their valid Platinum Card, government-issued I.D. and boarding pass to the Delta Sky Club ambassador. Boarding pass must show a reservation for a same-day Delta-operated flight departing from or arriving at the airport in which the Delta Sky Club is located. Platinum Cardmembers traveling on a same-day Delta-operated flight with Basic Economy (E) fare tickets will not have access to the Delta Sky Club or to Grab and Go. Name on boarding pass must match name on the Card. Eligible Cardmembers on departing flights can only access the Delta Sky Club within 3 hours of their flight’s scheduled departure time. During a layover between Delta-marketed or Delta-operated flights on the same ticket, you may use the Delta Sky Club in your connecting airport at any time during the layover. Round-trip same-day travel is not considered a layover. Delta reserves the right to limit access for non-revenue standby fliers at any Delta Sky Club. Supplementary Gold and Supplementary Green Cardmembers on Business Platinum Card accounts, and Supplementary Gold Cardmembers on Consumer Platinum Card accounts, are not eligible for complimentary access through The Global Lounge Collection benefit. Access to Delta Sky Club partner lounges is not permitted. Individuals must be at least 18 years of age to access Delta Sky Club, and 21 years of age to access locations with a self-service bar, unless accompanied by a responsible, supervising adult who has access to the lounge. Cardmembers must adhere to all House Rules of participating clubs. Participating airport clubs and locations subject to change without notice. Additional guest access and fees subject to terms and conditions of participating airport clubs. Guests must also provide the club ambassador with a same-day corresponding Delta airline ticket before entering the lounge. 12. Escape Lounges - This benefit is available to Platinum Cardmembers. Supplementary Gold Cards on Platinum accounts are not eligible for complimentary access. Cardmembers receive complimentary access to any US location of the Escape Lounges. Cardmember must present his or her valid Platinum Card, a boarding pass showing a confirmed reservation for same-day travel on any carrier and government-issued I.D. Cardmember must be at least 18 years of age to enter without a parent or legal guardian. For locations with a self-service bar, the Platinum Cardmember must be of legal drinking age in the location’s jurisdiction to enter without a parent or legal guardian. Must be of legal drinking age to consume alcoholic beverages. Please drink responsibly. Cardmembers may bring either (i) up to two guests or (ii) immediate family members, which are spouse or domestic partner and all children under the age of 18, as complimentary guests. Cardmember must adhere to all house rules of participating lounges. Cardmembers and his or her guests will receive all of the complimentary benefits and amenities afforded to the Escape Lounge customers, as well as access to purchase non-complimentary items. Some product features may be subject to additional charges. Escape Lounge locations are subject to change.
13. Additional Global Lounge Collection Partner Lounges - American Express offers access to additional lounges in the Global Lounge Collection where Platinum Cardmembers have unlimited complimentary access to participating locations. Cardmembers must present their valid Platinum Card, a government-issued I.D., and a boarding pass showing a confirmed reservation for same-day travel on any carrier. Guest access and associated fees are subject to the terms and conditions of the participating lounge provider. Participation, locations, rates, and policies of lounges are subject to change without notice, and Cardmembers and their guests will not be compensated for such changes. Access is subject to space availability, including capacity restrictions and limited hours that may be placed on the participating lounge. Amenities, services, and hours may vary by participating lounge and are subject to change without notice. American Express will not be liable for any articles lost or stolen, or damages suffered by the Cardmember or guests inside the participating lounge. For participating lounges with a self-service bar, the Cardmember may be required to be of legal drinking age in the participating lounge jurisdiction to enter without a parent or legal guardian. All Cardmembers and their guests must be of legal drinking age to consume alcoholic beverages. Please drink responsibly. Each participating lounge may have their own policy allowing for children under a certain age to enter for free with the Cardmember who is a parent or legal guardian. 14. Executive Lounges™ by Swissport – Platinum Cardmembers have complimentary access to Executive Lounges by Swissport in Canada. Supplementary Gold Cards on Platinum accounts are not eligible for complimentary access. Platinum Cardmember’s spouse and 2 children under the age of 21, or one travel companion, may enter as complimentary guests. Fees apply for additional guests. Guest must accompany the Platinum Cardmember. To access a lounge, Platinum Cardmember and eligible guest(s) must show a valid, unexpired eligible Platinum Card, confirmed boarding pass for same-day travel and government-issued photo identification in the name of the Platinum Cardmember/guest(s). House rules, terms and conditions apply. Lounge access is subject to availability. Unless otherwise stated, lounge access cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or benefit and is subject to change or cancellation at any time. 15. Fine Hotels + Resorts – Valid only for new Fine Hotels + Resorts (FHR) bookings made through Platinum Card Travel Service, americanexpress.ca/travel or americanexpress.ca/FHR. Payment must be made with an American Express Card in the Canadian Platinum Cardmember's name. Available for Canadian cardholders of The Platinum Card® from American Express. Platinum Cardmembers must travel on the itinerary booked under FHR reservations to be eligible for benefits described. Limit of one (1) benefit package per room per stay. Benefit package can include Noon check-in, Room upgrade, Daily breakfast for two people, guaranteed 4:00 pm late check-out, plus a unique property benefit. Noon check-in and room upgrade based on availability and provided at check-in. Certain room categories are not eligible for room upgrades. Call Platinum Card Travel Service for details. The type and value of the daily breakfast (for two) varies by property. The actual value of the daily breakfast will be communicated at the time of check-in. Daily breakfast will be valued at a minimum of US$60 per room per day. Any charges that exceed the value of the daily breakfast will be the responsibility of the Cardmember and will be charged separately. To receive the breakfast credit, the breakfast bill must be charged to your hotel room. The breakfast credit will be applied at check-out. Unique property benefit varies by property, is subject to change, and cannot be redeemed for cash. To receive the unique property benefit, the eligible spend must be charged to your hotel room and the credit will be applied at check-out. FHR cannot be combined with other offers unless indicated. Benefit package expires at check-out. Platinum Cardmembers may book up to a maximum of three (3) rooms under the FHR Program per stay. Back-to-back stays booked by a single Cardmember, Cardmembers travelling in the same party and staying in the same room, within a 24-hour period at the same property are considered one stay and are ineligible for additional FHR benefits (“Prohibited Action”). American Express and the Property reserve the right to modify or revoke FHR benefits at any time without notice if we or they determine, in our or their sole discretion, that you may have engaged in a Prohibited Action, or have engaged in abuse, misuse, or gaming in connection with your FHR benefits. In the event the Platinum Cardmember cancels the reservation(s), FHR rates and benefit package will no longer apply to any remaining reservation(s). Participating Fine Hotels + Resorts properties and benefits are subject to change. Complimentary Wi-Fi is provided in room, with the exception of select properties where In-Room Wi-Fi is included as part of a mandatory daily resort fee or is not available. In these instances complimentary Wi-Fi will be provided in a common space on property. Call Platinum Card Travel Service for property specific details regarding Wi-Fi.
16. The Hotel Collection – Valid at participating hotels for new bookings of at least two consecutive nights made through Platinum Card Travel Service, americanexpress.ca/travel or americanexpress.ca/THC. Payment must be made in full with an eligible American Express Card in the Canadian Platinum Cardmember’s name at time of checkout. The Platinum Cardmember must travel on the itinerary booked. (1) The Cardmember will receive the $100 USD credit as deduction from the final hotel bill when checking out of the hotel; $100 USD. Amenities vary by property and facilities available. To receive the credit, the eligible spend must be charged to your hotel room and the credit will be applied at check-out. Charges must be charged to the room and exclude charges for taxes, gratuities, fees and cost of room. Additional exclusions based on specific hotel restriction may also apply including without limitation purchases within the hotel that are unaffiliated and/or owned by third parties - see hotel front desk for details. Credit must be used in conjunction with initial stay and cannot be carried over to another stay. Offer is not redeemable for cash and expires at check-out. Credit is non-exchangeable and non-refundable and is applied in USD or equivalent in local currency based on exchange rate on day of arrival. May not be combined with other offer or programs unless indicated. Limit one credit per room, per stay. 17. Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite Status – Enrolment into the Marriott Bonvoy®* program is required to receive benefits of Gold Elite status, and may be terminated by Marriott without prior notice. Marriott Bonvoy benefits are subject to change and availability may vary by property. American Express Terms and Conditions apply. Gold Elite status amenities may not be combined with the Fine Hotels & Resorts program. All Marriott Terms and Conditions apply. 21. Premium Airport Transfer Service – To be eligible, Basic Platinum Cardmembers must book an eligible round-trip first class or business class flight with a minimum 1-night stay on the same itinerary through Platinum Card Travel Service and pay with their Platinum Card. Bookings must be made at least four hours prior to pick up time. Subject to availability. Booking changes or cancellations must be made with Platinum Card Travel Service. Please provide Platinum Card Travel Service notice of more than one hour prior to your scheduled pick up time of any change or cancellation. Failure to advise Platinum Card Travel Service of a change or cancellation within the minimum required time frame will count as one complimentary transfer usage. The Premium Airport Transfer Service must be within a 50-kilometer radius of the airport. Additional charges may apply and will need to be paid by the Platinum Cardmember if the car transfer goes over the 50-kilometer maximum. The maximum number of passengers and luggage allowed will be subject to vehicle availabilities. Platinum Cardmembers can receive up to 6 complimentary one-way transfers per calendar year. Cardmembers are limited to 4 one-way transfers per qualified round-trip flight and hotel booking. Locations where this service is available are subject to change without notice. American Express will request and provide your personal information such as your name, email address and mobile phone number to the service provider to fulfill on the Premium Airport Transfer Service. Basic Cardmembers enroled in the American Express Membership Rewards® Program that book travel through the American Express Travel website will earn one additional bonus Membership Rewards point for every dollar charged to their eligible Card for hotel and car rental bookings (less credits and adjustments) where American Express Travel (not the hotel or car rental company) is the merchant. The number of bonus Membership Rewards points is calculated by multiplying each eligible transaction by one, subject to rounding. Hotel bookings under the Fine Hotels & Resorts or The Hotel Collection programs are not eligible for this Bonus Membership Rewards points offer.
