Rising 65 stories in the heart of downtown Toronto, the hotel offers a remarkably central location, modern elegance and bespoke butler service along with 258 of the city's largest guest rooms and suites that set the standard for luxury in Canada. With 124 suites, The St. Regis Toronto has the largest luxury suite collection in Canada. The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto
Some might choose The Ritz-Carlton because of its great downtown location, in the heart of the financial and performing arts districts. Others might come because it delivers all the luxurious facilities and attentive service you’d expect of a five-star. But for keen turophiles what really sells it is the fact that it’s the only hotel in Canada to have its own cheese cave. It’s housed within TOCA, an Italian restaurant that puts a contemporary spin on classic dishes. Other gourmet treats include afternoon tea and gastropub-style food in Epoch and bar-food favourites in Ritz Bar. There’s a big lure for wellness-lovers, too, in the form of the highly-rated Spa myBlend (the only one in North America to offer Spa MyBlend’s highly personalised treatments), a saltwater indoor pool, and a 24-hour fitness centre. And if all you care about is your room, The Ritz-Carlton gets big ticks on that front, too.

Shangri-La Toronto
Given the Shangri-La’s location in one of Toronto’s tallest towers, it’s not surprising that bedrooms at this high-end hotel get a great view thrown in with the five-star surroundings. Higher-floor suites opens up to broader vistas and brings extra perks such as room-service breakfast each morning and a gift bag of Shangri-La goodies. The hotel’s wellness facilities include a gym, lap pool and Miraj Hammam Spa, which brings a touch of the Middle East to Toronto. As well as offering Sodashi and Biologique Recherche treatments, the spa specialises in hammam gommage (exfoliation with eucalyptus-infused black Moroccan soap) and rhassoul clay masques. Down at ground level, the popular Lobby Lounge lays on a stylish afternoon tea and seasonally inspired cocktails, while Bosk restaurant serves up modern Canadian cuisine with a slight Asian twist. Look out for dishes and drinks containing B-Wall honey, produced by the hotel’s own bees.

Four Seasons Hotel Toronto
Locals and visitors alike love dining and drinking at the Four Seasons. The street-level d|bar is one of the places to see and be seen in upscale Yorkville, especially in summer when outdoor terrace tables make for prime people-watching. The food here and in the second-floor restaurant Café Boulud is masterminded by renowned chef Daniel Boulud, who took culinary inspiration from his French roots in creating a seasonally-changing menu of bistro classics and contemporary dishes. The hotel spa complete with pool and fitness centre, is a cut-above, too. Favourite treatments include the Deep Tissue Massage but a new Wellness & Bio Bar menu also provides less expected experiences including hypnosis and Celluma light therapy. If you need to work, hotel staff can supply anything from monitors and Moleskin notebooks to Bluetooth printers and blue-light glasses, while families can order in goodies like Playstations and toy-vending machines. Bedrooms feel fresh and bright, with subtle floral prints and textured fabrics adding interest to a serenely neutral colour palette.

1 Hotel Toronto
This urban oasis celebrates the beauty of Ontario’s natural landscapes and looks stylish enough to grace the pages of any glossy lifestyle mag. The hotel entrance sets the tone, flanked by boulders, native shrubs and trailing plants; indoors, there’s a soothing colour palette of muted natural shades, plus flooring and furniture made from reclaimed woods, and an abundance of greenery everywhere you look. The two restaurants and two bars source their raw ingredients as locally and sustainably as possible, including fresh herbs, flowers and greens grown on-site. Try 1 Kitchen for contemporary farm-to-fork dishes and Casa Madera for a chef-driven Mexican-Mediterranean inspired menu, or head to Harriet’s Rooftop – next to the rooftop pool-with-a-view – for Japanese small plates and sushi and Flora Lounge for expertly crafted cocktails and nutrient-rich health drinks. Guest wellness is a key focus for the hotel, which provides bikes to borrow and bedroom yoga mats as well as a well equipped gym, personal trainers and group fitness classes.

Fairmont Royal York
An historic landmark in the heart of downtown, Fairmont Royal York is just minutes away from some of Toronto’s biggest attractions, including the CN Tower and Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada. Conveniently, the UP Express is a fast and reliable 25 min direct train from the airport to Union Station, located across the street from the hotel. On the outside, this grand railway hotel still looks much as it did when it first opened in 1929. Following a multi-million-dollar revitalisation, completed in 2019, featuring a modern Art Deco reimaging of the hotel’s stunning lobby, new and award-winning dining venues with impressive cocktail program, and modernised guest rooms - a great place for Platinum and Gold Card Members to spend their USD$100 Credit they receive when booking two nights or more through The Hotel Collection, which can be spent on qualifying dining, spa, and resort activities.

Built in 1903, the ‘King Eddy’ was Toronto’s first luxury hotel and today retains all the features you’d expect of such an historic property. There’s also a spa, offering face and body treatments – which might be one way for Platinum and Gold Card Members to spend the USD$100 Credit (valid on qualifying dining, spa and resort activities) that comes with bookings of two nights or more via The Hotel Collection. On the food front, afternoon tea in Victoria Café is a long-standing tradition, while Consort Bar has a globally-influenced menu that features the likes of miso-glazed salmon, sage buttered gnocchi and all-Canadian burgers.
