Wynn and Encore Las Vegas
When Wynn Las Vegas first opened in 2005, it brought new levels of luxury to the Strip. Three years later, it was joined by an equally lavish sister hotel, Encore, cementing this five-star resort’s reputation as one of the most elegant accommodation options in town. The two towers, with their curved bronze facades, cut a sleek, contemporary silhouette against the sky at the northern end of the Strip and the interiors are equally impressive. Unlike many Vegas hotels, there’s no theme to the décor – the aim was simply to create something stunning, from the breathtaking atrium garden and beautifully landscaped pool areas to the ultra-high-thread-count linens on the famously comfortable beds. The in-house shops are an upscale retail destination (we’re talking Chanel, Prada and Gucci) and the entertainment options stack up well, too. Discover a great choice of restaurants and bars, two award-winning spas, nightclubs that host some of the hottest DJs in the world and an on-site championship 18-hole golf course.

Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas
Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas is a non-gaming and non-smoking hotel, making this one of the more tranquil places to stay, even though it occupies a prime central position on the Strip. For added serenity, take a trip to the eighth-floor spa, which offers a wide range of massages, facials and body therapies. There is a full service hair and nail salon, fitness centre, a variety of fitness classes and the chance to book personal training sessions. The next door pool deck is peaceful and relaxed, with private cabanas, a bar/café and views across the Strip. The 23rd floor is home to the Hotel bar (cocktails, craft beers, wines and snacks) and Tea Lounge (classic afternoon tea, with a special children’s version for junior guests). Elsewhere, you can enjoy casual all-day dining at Zen Kitchen, which serves seasonal American cuisine. Guest rooms are filled with light from the floor-to-ceiling windows and are smartly decorated in pale neutral shades with dark wood fittings. If you value your privacy, you’ll appreciate the valet closets, which allow staff to deliver room service, newspapers and dry cleaning without ever needing to disturb you.

Bellagio
Think of Bellagio and you instantly think of their iconic dancing fountains – the spectacular aquatic ballet that takes place on the hotel’s eight-acre lake for free every day. Check in for the night and you’ll soon discover the hotel has plenty more magic up its sleeve, from the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art to the Botanical Gardens, spectacularly transformed with each changing season. The range of restaurants and bars is torture for ditherers. Amazing seafood at Michael Mina or perfectly grilled meats at Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s PRIME Steakhouse? California cuisine at Wolfgang Puck’s Spago or Cantonese at Jasmine? Or do you book a romantic patio table at Lago to enjoy Julian Serrano’s Italian food with a fountain view? The Bellagio’s excellent location puts you right at the heart of the Strip but there’s plenty to explore without leaving the resort. Take your pick of assorted pools, cabanas and daybeds; try your luck in the casino; indulge yourself in the spa and salon; and don’t forget to book seats for O, the spectacular in-house Cirque du Soleil show.

Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas
Tucked away at the southern end of the Strip, the Four Seasons is an exclusive bolthole; without a casino, it instead focuses its attention on all the other luxuries. There’s the five-star spa, where the range of treatments includes deeply relaxing massages, results-oriented facials and soothing after-sun wraps. The Veranda restaurant specialises in modern American cuisine, while the indoor-outdoor lounge Press serves up a menu of light bites alongside its craft cocktails and fine wines. Sign up for a Bartender’s Table Experience and you’ll get an hour-long masterclass in mixology, culminating in the creation of your own personalised cocktail. Four Seasons guests also get access to the adjoining Mandalay Bay Resort, so if you fancy a change from relaxing in style at the tranquil pool deck here, you can go splash around in next door's 11-acre acquatic playground instead, complete with lagoon, lazy river and wave pool.

Palazzo at the Venetian
There’s nothing understated about The Venetian. It’s top-to-toe extravagance, from the 40-odd restaurants and bars to the multiple swimming pools and huge Canyon Ranch spa. Not to mention the impressive recreation of Renaissance Venice, complete with Grand Canal and singing gondoliers. It’s hardly surprising, then, that in The Palazzo (the newer and taller of the Venetian’s two signature towers) the standard rooms turn out to be anything but. Entry-level Luxury King Suites come with lashings of space, along with high-spec finishes and sophisticated grey-and-white decor. The oversized beds are super-comfy with luxurious pillow-top mattresses, and steps lead down from the sleeping area to a sunken living room space, complete with a desk, dining table and L-shaped sofa. Upgrade to the Prestige package and as well as being guaranteed a room on a high floor, perks include access to the 23rd-floor lounge, with its nightly cocktail reception and business centre services. Head to The Waterfall Atrium to strike a pose in front of Laura Kimpton’s giant LOVE sculpture.

Conrad Las Vegas
The Conrad forms part of Resorts World Las Vegas, a vast new resort at the northern end of the Strip, across the way from the convention centre. There’s no missing it: the red end walls stand out boldly against the blue Vegas sky and the façade of the West Tower has one of the largest LED building displays in the world. That signature red reappears inside, too, bringing pops of colour to chairs and bedheads in the bedrooms and to umbrellas and sunbeds around the pools. The resort only opened in 2021 and prides itself on its state-of-the-art technology, so rooms come with wireless phone-charging stations, LED smart TVs, USB-C and USB-plug sockets by the bedside, and modern artworks dotted around the hotel are accompanied by QR code captions. The spa, meanwhile, combines cutting-edge techniques and ancient traditions, offering everything from recovery boots and Theragun massage to Himalayan singing bowls and crystal therapy.

Park MGM Las Vegas
Built in an enviable mid-strip location sits Park MGM, an entirely smoke-free resort. Rooms have a cool, contemporary vibe, with deep hues combined with dark woods and leather button-back armchairs, while otherwise white walls and thoughtfully curated artworks to keep the overall effect fresh, modern and residential. The beds, topped with luxury linens, are cosily built into alcoves with useful bedside power outlets; they’re mirrored by entertainment ‘nooks’, where sofas stretch the width of the windows. Stay in NoMad, a hotel within a hotel on the top floors of the building, with Jacques Garcia-designed interiors and oriental rugs on hardwood floors. Leisure options include a spa, a choice of pools and an entertainment calendar that features residencies from big-name acts. There are a tempting array of restaurants, including the authentic experience of Eataly, a foodie heaven for anyone who loves Italian cuisine
