Things to do and places to visit in Dubai.

When is the best time to visit Dubai?

With summer temperatures swelteringly high, it can be more enjoyable to sightsee and sunbathe in the slightly cooler months either side – you’ll still be experiencing daytime temperatures of around 30 degree celcius if you visit in May or October and cooler evenings.

Dubai is also a popular winter sun destination with average daytime temperatures well over 20 degree celcius between December and February. Evenings in the city are colder, but if you venture out into the desert be warned that it drops much further, averaging closer to 5 degree celecius at night.

Travelling to Dubai

International flights arrive at Dubai International Airport, which has two Dubai Metro stations situated at terminals One and Three. You can buy your ticket at the station and the train from Terminal Three to Dubai Mall Metro Station takes less than half an hour.

Getting around Dubai

Public Transport in Dubai

There is an expansive bus and metro network that can take you across Dubai in air-conditioned comfort. To do so, you must use a Nol card, a smart card that can be topped up and used to pay for all transportation, including the metro, tram, bus, Dubai ferry, and even taxis.

Cycle hire in Dubai

There are two main cycle hire companies in Dubai: BYKY and Careem Bike. BYKY only require a document for proof of identification; there’s no need to register or pay online. With seven stations across Dubai, the bases are also easy to find and conveniently located.

Cabs in Dubai

Government-licensed taxis are all run by the Dubai Taxi Corporation. As a result, they are metered and can be found outside most landmarks and tourist destinations. The corporation can cater to a range of needs, too and equipped for wheelchairs.
