Episode 3 explores how change can be a constant part of building a business. Rebecca Hessel Cohen, founder and creative director of women’s lifestyle clothing brand, LoveShackFancy, sold clothes at trunk shows before opening 18 stores in the U.S. and selling globally. While buyers initially recommended a different aesthetic for her clothing, staying true to her vision proved profitable: she’s now working to expand the brand into beauty. Sianni Dean, owner of Austin-based Cranky Granny’s Sweet Rolls, spent nearly 10 years building her business with the ultimate goal of franchising. Despite having to close the company’s very first storefront, Dean has rolled with the challenges, maintaining her motivation and focus to drive forward. Lena Imamura, founder of New York-based design studio NAME GLO, started the company to create custom neon light products. Though it’s seen success, she’s rebranding its name to GLO STUDIO and expanding their product line – aiming to explore her team’s bright ideas in a new light.
