- The interest free grace period is 28, 29, 30 or 31 days from the closing date of the current statement to the closing date of the next statement depending on the number of days in the calendar month in which the closing date occurs. The number of interest free days varies based on a variety of factors, including when charges are posted to your account, whether your account is in good standing, and the closing date of your statement.
- This charge Card has both Due in Full and Flexible Payment Option balances. All Due in Full balances must be paid each month. Interest rate of 30% applies to each delinquent Due in Full charge. This rate is effective from the day account is opened. The Preferred rate of 21.99% applies to your Flexible Payment Option balance. If you have 2 separate Missed Payments in a 12 month period, the Flexible Payment Option rate for your account will be 25.99%. - You may select a spending amount up to which a Supplementary Cardmember will be able to make charges to their Supplementary Card during each billing period. This spending amount is not affected by payments or credits made by or on behalf of the Supplementary Cardmember during a billing period. The spending amount will automatically reset at the beginning of each new billing period. It is your responsibility to ensure each Supplementary Cardmember is made aware of any spending amount that applies to their account as well as the date on which the spending amount resets each month. You can select a different spending amount for each Supplementary Cardmember.
- You may change the set spending amount you have previously selected at any time. If the spending amount is increased, the Supplementary Cardmember’s ability to charge will be increased once we are able to process the change. Unlike the initial enrolment of a Supplementary Cardmember, charges made by that Supplementary Cardmember before that date will be included in the spending amount for the current billing period. For example, if a Supplementary Cardmember has a $1000 spending amount in place and has already made $750 in charges so far this billing period, if you increase the spending amount to $2000 per month, that $750 balance will be included as part of the $2000 spending amount. This means that the Supplementary Cardmember will only be able to charge $1250 for the remainder of the current billing period and then $2000 for each billing period thereafter.

Any credit not redeemed during the applicable redemption period will not roll over to the following redemption period and will expire. Your Card must be charged prior to the end of each redemption period (the 28th, 29th, 30th or 31st of the respective month, depending on the applicable month) to be eligible for the credit within that redemption period. Purchases made by the last day of the month but charged to the registered Card after that day may not count towards eligible spend for that month (for example, if a purchase is made on or before the last day of the month but charged by the merchant on a date that occurs after the last day of the month or if there is a time difference). If this occurs, that purchase will count towards eligible spend for the next month.
This benefit is available to Basic Business Platinum Cardmembers only. If you switch to a new Card product that is not eligible for this benefit, enrolment will be removed from your Card account. If you are no longer eligible for this benefit, due to a change in account status including but not limited to fraudulent flags, suspension, or cancellation, it will be removed from your account.
Valid only on purchases for monthly wireless telephone service charges made directly from an eligible national wireless carrier in Canada. For more information on the designation of national wireless carriers, please review the CRTC’s regulatory policy. Any purchases from third parties, authorized retailers or resellers, payment account or service of a third party, a card reader attached to a mobile phone and online aggregators, are excluded. Bundled services offered by the above Wireless companies for TV, Internet and VoIP and VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) services may be excluded. Benefit limited to the Card to which the offer is saved and only spend on this Card counts towards the benefit. Transactions made with a Supplementary Card are not eligible for the credit.
Credit should appear on your billing statement within 5 business days from qualifying spend but may take up to 5 months. Credit may be reversed if your qualifying purchase is refunded or cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit.If you have any questions about merchant eligibility, call the number on the back of your Card.
A statement credit does not constitute a payment and does not satisfy the requirement to pay the minimum due on a credit card. The Basic/Primary Cardmember must continue to make separate payments of at least the minimum due in accordance with the Cardmember Agreement and account statement applicable to their registered Card account.

- Business Platinum Cardmembers will receive up to a $100 CAD statement credit when NEXUS application or renewal fees are charged to their account. Business Platinum Cardmembers are eligible to receive up to $100 CAD in statement credits every four (4) years for application or renewal fees for the NEXUS program when charged to an eligible Card. Cardmembers will receive statement credits for their total spend on NEXUS fees rounded down to the nearest dollar, up to a maximum of $100 CAD in cumulative statement credits, per account per four (4) year period, regardless of whether the NEXUS fees are charged on the Basic or Supplementary Card. *$300 In Statement Credits - Earning up to $300 CAD in statement credits is based on the combined total value of current benefits available to eligible Business Platinum Cards: one (1) $200 CAD annual statement credit for a qualified travel booking charged to the Business Platinum Card and up to $100 CAD in statement credits every four (4) years for application or renewal fees for the NEXUS program. Earning up to $300 CAD in additional value does not include the Card’s annual fee.
- The $200 CAD Annual Travel Credit can only be redeemed at time of booking through American Express Travel Online at americanexpress.ca/travel or by calling Platinum Card Travel Service. If you choose to use the Travel Credit, it will be credited to your Card account within 2 business days. - Business Platinum Cardmembers will receive up to a $100 CAD statement credit when NEXUS application or renewal fees are charged to their account. Business Platinum Cardmembers are eligible to receive up to $100 CAD in statement credits every four (4) years for application or renewal fees for the NEXUS program when charged to an eligible Card. Cardmembers will receive statement credits for their total spend on NEXUS fees rounded down to the nearest dollar, up to a maximum of $100 CAD in cumulative statement credits, per account per four (4) year period, regardless of whether the NEXUS fees are charged on the Basic or Supplementary Card. American Express will not provide additional statement credits once the maximum of $100 CAD in cumulative statement credits have been issued for subsequent NEXUS application or renewal fees charged to the same eligible Card within the same four (4) year period even if the original application is rejected. For existing Cardmembers as of September 26, 2023, the first four (4) year period runs from September 26, 2023 until September 25, 2027. In the event of a reservation cancellation, the Cardmember will be subject to the restaurant’s cancellation policy, which will be communicated to the Cardmember by Concierge at the time of booking. Concierge is not responsible for informing the restaurant of your dietary restrictions or for the restaurant being able to accommodate the restrictions; we do ask that you provide this information directly to the restaurant.
Upon authorization by the Business Platinum Cardmember, Concierge uses its best efforts to source or arrange the reservation as requested. Business Platinum concierge services are provided at no charge, however Business Platinum Cardmembers pay supplier for authorized charges. If applicable, Business Platinum Cardmembers will be advised of the amount of a no-show reservation fee at the time of booking. Amex Bank of Canada is not responsible for the acts or omissions of suppliers, and cannot guarantee fulfillment of Business Platinum Cardmember requests in all instances.
Limited dietary restrictions may be accommodated. You can be covered for up to $1,500 per insured person, per trip, up to a maximum of $3,000 for all insured persons combined.
When you charge your travel arrangements to your Business Platinum Card, this insurance can cover the non-refundable and non-transferable unused portion of your travel arrangements purchased before your departure date, should your trip be interrupted or delayed for a covered reason. You can be covered for up to $1,500 per insured person, per trip, up to a maximum of $6,000 for all insured persons combined.

You can be covered up to $500,000 of Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance when you fully charge your common carrier (plane, train, ship or bus) tickets to your Business Platinum Card.
You can be covered for theft, loss and damage of your rental car with an MSRP of up to $85,000 for rentals of 48 days or less when you fully charge your rental to your Business Platinum Card. To take advantage of this protection, simply decline the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) or similar option offered by the car rental agency.
You can be covered for loss or damage to your checked-in or carry-on baggage and personal effects while in transit for up to a maximum of $1,000 per trip for all insured person(s) combined when you fully charge your airline tickets to your Business Platinum Card.
You can receive up to $1,000 in coverage (aggregate maximum with Baggage Delay Insurance) for necessary and reasonable accommodations, restaurant expenses and sundry items purchased within 48 hours when delayed or denied boarding for 4 hours or more and no alternate transportation is made available when you fully charge your airline ticket to your Business Platinum Card.
You can receive up to $1.000 in coverage (aggregate maximum with Flight Delay Insurance), for reasonable and necessary emergency purchases for essential clothing and sundry items purchased within four days of arrival at your destination when your checked-in baggage on your outbound trip is delayed for six or more hours when you fully charge your airline ticket to your Business Platinum Card.
You can receive up to $1,000 in coverage against the loss of most personal items (excluding cash) if your accommodation is burglarized when you fully charge your accommodations to your Business Platinum Card.
Business Coverage
Your Business Platinum Card may be covered for eligible unauthorized charges if you terminate the employee and cancel their Supplementary Card within 2 business days. Employee Card Misuse Protection is a benefit created specifically for business owners and it provides coverage of up to $100,000 per Basic Cardmember in the event an employee misuses their Supplementary Card for unauthorized charges.
Purchase Coverage
Your coverage can automatically extend the manufacturer’s original warranty up to one additional year when you fully charge eligible items to your Business Platinum Card.
You can be insured for eligible items charged to your Business Platinum Card for 90 days from the date of purchase in the event of accidental physical damage or theft for up to $1,000 per occurrence (for all purchased items combined).
When you fully charge or finance the purchase price of an eligible mobile device to your Business Platinum Card, you can be covered for up to $1,500 per insured person, in the event of theft, loss or accidental damage, anywhere in the world. Coverage begins on the date the first transaction related to the purchase of your mobile device is charged to your Card, or on the 91st day following the date of purchase of your mobile device (in order to avoid overlap with the 90-day coverage available to you under your Purchase Protection® Plan Certificate of Insurance), and continues for a maximum of 2 years from the date of purchase.
