Yes, you can download Card Member statements in PDF or XLS for the past 6 months. You may also request archived statements up to 7 years in the past.
To avoid late payment fees, we recommend informing your Card Members that the American Express Corporate Card is a Charge Card, which means that the full balance needs to be paid upon receipt of their statement. If the full balance is not paid by the due date, a late payment fee will apply. Payment must be made at least 3 working days before the due date for the payment to clear. If a payment becomes overdue, American Express may charge your Company or Card Member late payment fees on the overdue balance, monthly in arrears.
- 30 days overdue
- 60 days overdue for payment
- 90 days overdue for payment
If a Card is 30 days overdue for payment, late payment fees will apply. You or the Card Member will be contacted directly, and the Card may be suspended. This will only happen after you have been advised.
If a Card is 60 days overdue, you will be contacted and the Card will be suspended.
If a Card is 90 days overdue for payment, the Card will be automatically cancelled. The Account may be referred to an external debt collection agency or solicitor to establish acceptable repayment terms.
To receive proactive alerts for overdue payments, subscribe to our Alerts product in @ Work which is a feature of our Online Program Management (OPM) digital service.
The American Express credit policy may vary depending upon the Terms and Conditions set for your Company and will be applied on an individual Card basis.
For Card Members who are enrolled in Membership Rewards, Membership Rewards points earned in the previous statement cycle will be forfeited if payment was not received within 40 days of the statement date. Card Members can reinstate the forfeited points Online, however a fee applies.

Unfortunately, there are times when a charge may be declined. We use sophisticated systems to monitor spend patterns and to identify fraudulent or unapproved spend in order protect your Company and Card Members. Because of this, any out-of-pattern spend will be referred for manual approval. This means the transaction will not go through on the Card until American Express has been contacted and approves it. Card charges are more likely to be referred for manual approval when new Card Members start using the Card and have minimal spend history. The most frequent types of out-of-pattern expenditure are large, online or overseas transactions.
If a merchant indicates that a transaction has been declined, Card Members should request clarification. If manual approval is required, the Card Member should ask the merchant to contact the American Express Merchant Services team to request this approval.
If the decline is due to exceeding an individual spend limit, you can review and increase* the limit in @ Work.
* Subject to the limit being lower than the Company Limit.
If a Card Member does not recognise a transaction, they should contact the supplier and dispute the charge directly. If this is either unsuccessful or not possible, the Card Member can raise a billing inquiry online or alternatively contact our Customer Service team via Live Chat or Phone to dispute the charge. This must be within 3 months of the date of the charge. A temporary credit may be applied to the Account while American Express investigates the charge. This may take up to 6 to 8 weeks.
To raise a billing inquiry online, please follow the steps below:
- Log in to Card Member Online Account
- Select the transaction from your statement
- Click ‘Have a question about this charge?’
- Select the type of inquiry you would like to make and answer a few questions (you will be advised if supporting documentation is needed).
Keep in mind that there are some instances in which a transaction will appear under a trading name that’s different to the retailer’s name where you made your purchase. For example:
- A clothing store that is part of a wider retail chain
- A restaurant that is attached to a hotel
- A company that uses their central billing office (e.g. ‘G M Cabs Mascot’).
Before raising a billing inquiry, check the charge amount and see if it matches any of your receipts. If you still don’t recognise the Merchant name, you can proceed with the lodgement of a billing inquiry.
