1. Membership Rewards: Subject to the Terms and Conditions of the Membership Rewards program. You will earn 2.25 points for every $1 spent on all spend except government where you will earn 1 point for every $1 spent. Merchants classified as "government" include the Australian Taxation Office, the Australian Postal Corporation, Federal/State and Local government bodies. Industry specific earn rate may apply when you use a payment account, payment aggregator, services of a third party or online retailers that sell goods for another merchant. For example a payment made to Local Government bodies processed through a payment aggregator may earn points at the government earn rate. 3. Shop PayPal with Points
Eligibility to ‘Shop PayPal with Points':
You can use your Membership Rewards with PayPal on eligible transactions (‘Shop PayPal with Points’) if you are the Primary Card Member of an eligible American Express® Card issued by American Express Australia Limited; your Card is enrolled in an eligible Membership Rewards program; and your Card Account is in good standing (i.e., not overdue or in collections). Additional or Employee Card Members, Card Members enrolled in Qantas or Velocity Direct program, Business Ascent program or Business Card Members with spend locked to one supplier or Card Members who hold an American Express David Jones Store Card are not eligible to Shop PayPal with Points.
Using ‘Shop PayPal with Points’:
To use points through PayPal, you must first sign in to your PayPal account. Once you are signed in, you can link your eligible Card to your PayPal account. Once you have linked your Eligible Card to your PayPal account, it will appear in your PayPal wallet. Any Eligible Card that is already in your PayPal wallet is already linked.
After you have linked your Eligible Card, you can view your Membership Rewards point balance and its associated dollar value for use on PayPal. At checkout, select and confirm the Membership Rewards option and enter the dollar amount you would like applied as a statement credit toward your associated purchase. This dollar amount cannot be higher than the amount of available points displayed to you. You may edit your selection before completing your associated purchase. You will then be charged the full dollar amount to your selected American Express Card and will receive a Statement Credit in exchange for your points redemption. The credit will be posted to your American Express account within 2 to 4 days. Depending on when your next Card statement is due, the statement credit may not appear until your next statement period.
New PayPal Account
After you create a new account at Paypal.com/au and link your Eligible Card, you will automatically be shown the available point balance and its associated dollar value for use through PayPal. During checkout, check the “Use Membership Rewards® points for a statement credit” box, confirm the dollar amount of the statement credit you would like to receive, and then finalise your purchase order.
Existing PayPal Account
While checking out using your existing PayPal account with your existing Eligible Card on file, you will automatically be shown the available point balance and its associated dollar value for use. During checkout, check the “Use Membership Rewards points for a statement credit” box, confirm the dollar amount of the statement credit you would like to receive, and then finalise your purchase order.
Please note that the use of Membership Rewards points will only be displayed for eligible Australian PayPal sellers. American Express and PayPal maintain the right to exclude sellers at their discretion at any time.
The minimum redemption value is 1,000 Membership Rewards points. The maximum points redemption is the lower of the total transaction value or the total points available in your Membership Rewards account. The number of rewards points needed for a statement credit may vary over time. The points required for the credit value will be displayed during the checkout process, prior to submission.
The full transaction amount will be charged and appear on your account and the credit will appear within 2 to 4 days of the charge (this may not be the full transaction amount depending on how many points you choose to redeem). The credit may not appear on the same statement as the full transaction amount is charged to, but may appear on your next statement. If this occurs, you must still pay the amount due on your statement by the due date.
Returns & refunds
The Card Terms and Conditions continue to apply when you Shop PayPal with Points. You must continue to make payments as outlined on your Statement of Account and in your Card Member agreement, even when you Shop PayPal with Points. All Membership Rewards points are subject to the Membership Rewards Terms and Conditions available here.

We may change or suspend the Shop PayPal with Points feature for any reason and at any time without prior notice, including when a Card account is not in good standing (overdue or in collections).
4. Points for Credit.Points may be redeemed by the Basic Card Member for a credit on the Primary Card Account. American Express may decline a Points for Credit request where the Card Account or Card Member’s other Accounts with American Express are not in good standing. The redemption of Points for Credit will be administered solely by American Express within three business days and cannot be reversed. Redeeming Points for Credit is not redeemable for cash via Credit balance refund. If redeeming with Points + Pay, the ‘pay’ component of your purchase will be automatically billed to your American Express Card Account and will appear on the first billing statement following redemption. You’ll earn Membership Rewards points on the ‘pay’ component of your purchase only.
5. Gift Cards. Gift Card or voucher rewards are not redeemable or exchangeable for cash or credit. Normal retailer gift card or voucher conditions apply, refer to the gift card or retailer website for details. Minimum redemption amount applies.
6. David Jones. Subject to the Terms and Conditions of the Membership Rewards program available here and the David Jones Partner Terms and Conditions available at DAVIDJONES.COM.AU. Only American Express Cards issued by American Express Australia Limited are eligible provided they are enrolled in the Membership Rewards program. Minimum redemption amounts apply. If redeeming with Points + Pay, the 'pay' component of your purchase will be automatically billed to your American Express Card Account and will appear on the first billing statement following redemption. You’ll earn Membership Rewards points on the ‘pay’ component of your purchase only.
7. Membership Rewards Terms & Conditions: To earn or redeem Membership Rewards points, Cards must be enrolled to the American Express Membership Rewards program, and your Card Account must be in good standing.
To redeem Membership Rewards Points with American Express Travel Online, you need to have available limit on your Card for the full transaction amount of the booking. You will then receive a statement credit within 3 business days for your points redemption. If the credit isn’t on the same statement as the transaction, it should appear on your next statement. Please pay all amounts due each month. You will earn Membership Rewards points on the full dollar amount charged to your Card.

8. Webjet & helloworld: Minimum redemption amounts apply. You can redeem points for prepaid travel of a nominated value through Webjet.com.au and helloworld with the point-of-purchase redemption capability. Up to 55 days cash flow: Depending on your method of payment, when you make a purchase, when your statement is issued and whether or not you are carrying forward a balance on your account from your previous statement period. If you pay by direct debit, your payment will be processed 10 days after your statement is issued.

Delta Sky Club.
Effective January 1, 2024:
Eligible Card Members travelling on a same-day Delta-operated flight with Basic Economy (E) fare tickets will not have access to the Delta Sky Club or to Grab and Go.
This benefit is available to the Platinum Card Members. Platinum Card Members must present their valid American Express Card, government-issued I.D., and boarding pass to the Delta Sky Club ambassador. Boarding pass must show a reservation for a same-day Delta-operated flight (Delta or Delta connection) departing from or arriving at the airport in which the Delta Sky Club is located. Name on boarding pass must match name on the Card. Eligible Platinum Card Members on departing flights can only access the Delta Sky Club within three hours of their flight's scheduled departure time. During a connection between Delta-operated flights on the same ticket, you may use the Delta Sky Club in your connecting airport at any time during the layover. Delta reserves the right to limit access for non-revenue flyers at any Delta Sky Club. Additional Gold Cards and Additional Green Cards on your Platinum account are not eligible for complimentary access. Access to Delta Sky Club partner lounges is not permitted. 6. Accor Plus Complimentary Membership: An annual Accor Plus membership is valued at AU$399, found at accorplus.com/au/benefits as at 1 August 2022. 2. The Australian Premium Subscription benefit offer (‘Benefit’) is available to eligible American Express Australia Card Members (‘Card Members’).
Once you have requested to enrol in The Australian Premium Subscription, American Express Australia Limited (‘American Express’) will determine your eligibility to enrol in the Benefit via the enrolment process. If eligible then American Express will share your enrolment information with Nationwide News Pty Ltd (‘News Corp’). News Corp may use this enrolment information in accordance with its privacy policy available here.
The Benefit will provide eligible Card Members with; (a) a 12 month digital access to The Australian which provides premium content at theaustralian.com.au and via The Australian app; (b) eligibility to activate a digital subscription to the Wall Street Journal which will run concurrently with the subscription in (a) above; (c) a bespoke The Australian Premium e-newsletter sent every week and exclusive to subscribers of The Australian Premium subscription; and (d) access to The Australian Insiders’ Briefing virtual event held twice per calendar year. Eligible Card Members must activate the Benefit described in (a) above in order to be provided with the opportunity to activate or enjoy the other parts of the Benefit.
Card Members are not required to pay for the Benefit. Subscriptions provided under the Benefit will be automatically renewed every 12 months provided American Express and News Corp continue their arrangements in relation to this Benefit. Under the Benefit, you are limited to one digital subscription per eligible Card Member; not to be used in conjunction with any other offer; subscription is for digital content only; physical newspapers are not included. In addition to these terms and conditions, your use of the Benefit is subject to News Corp’s full digital subscription terms and conditions available here. For avoidance of doubt, terms and conditions contained here will take precedent in the event of inconsistency. Eligible Card Members will be required to agree to News Corp’s terms and conditions and privacy policy to activate the Benefit.
News Corp may cancel any digital subscription provided under the Benefit at any time if the Card Member subscriber is in breach of these terms and conditions or the News Corp terms and conditions for any part of the Benefit, if notified by American Express that a Card Member is no longer eligible for this subscription or if American Express and News Corp cease to have an agreement relating to the continued provision of the Benefit. The value of the Benefit is not redeemable for cash or any other payment form. American Express may end this Benefit at any time.
3. Events: Transportation and accommodation costs are additional unless otherwise stated. The price indicated covers event costs only. Tax and gratuity extra. All sales are final and non-refundable, and resale is prohibited. Payment must be made using an eligible American Express Card. Details and prices are subject to change. 4. Fraud Protection Guarantee: Provided that you notify us immediately upon discovery of any fraudulent transactions and you have complied with your Card Member Agreement, you will not be held liable for any unauthorised charges.

Card Purchase Cover: American Express Card Insurances are underwritten by Chubb Insurance Australia Limited (ABN 23 001 642 020, AFSL No. 239687) (Chubb) and are subject to the Terms, Conditions and exclusions contained in the American Express Card Insurances policy between American Express International Inc (ABN 15 000 618 208 AFSL 237996) (AEII) and Chubb. The insurances do not take into account your objectives, financial situation or needs. The Insurances are subject to change. It is important for you to read the Insurances and consider the appropriateness of that insurance in relation to your individual requirements. 6. Platinum Travel Insurance: The insurance on American Express Cards is subject to terms, conditions and exclusions (such as maximum age limits, pre-existing medical conditions and cover limits). You must use your American Express Platinum Business Card to pay for eligible items for those items to be covered under the retail insurance benefits. It is important you read the American Express Platinum Business Card Insurance Terms and Conditions and consider whether the insurance is right for you. This insurance is underwritten by Chubb Insurance Australia Limited (ABN 23 001 642 020, AFSL No. 239687) under a group policy of insurance held by American Express Australia Limited (ABN 92 108 952 085, AFSL No. 291313). 7. Accor Plus Complimentary Membership: An annual Accor Plus membership is valued at AU$399, found at accorplus.com/au/benefits as at 1 August 2022. Enrolment is required to receive a complimentary Accor Plus membership. An Accor Plus membership is available only to the Primary Platinum Card Member. Membership privileges will only be granted on presentation of a valid membership card and a member must identify themselves as an Accor Plus member at time of booking. Accommodation bookings must be made through all.accor.com or accorplus.com. American Express reserves the right to instruct Accor Plus to cancel your membership if you cease to be a Platinum Card Member or your account is not in good standing. Complimentary membership is a continuing benefit of your American Express Platinum Card, however American Express reserves the right to discontinue the benefit, upon providing you with reasonable notice. Once enrolled, enrolment continues for at least 12 months. If you become ineligible for this benefit or if this benefit ends, the Accor Plus membership standard eligibility criteria will apply to you. 8. Priority Pass: These Terms and Conditions govern American Express Platinum Card Members participation in and use of the Priority Pass™ program. Priority Pass is an independent airport lounge access program. Your Priority Pass benefit is limited to airport lounge access only. Non-lounge airport experiences in the form of credits for restaurants, cafes and bars are not available. Primary Platinum Business Card Members and one nominated Employee Platinum Business Card Member per Account are eligible for Priority Pass membership. At any visit to a Priority Pass lounge that admits guests, you will be charged the prevailing retail rate for each guest. Some lounges do not admit guests. By enrolling in Priority Pass, you agree that you will be responsible for any additional accompanying guest visits and that your Card will be automatically charged after you have signed for the additional guest visit and it has been reported to Priority Pass by the participating lounge. Additionally, you acknowledge and agree that American Express will verify your Card Account number and provide updated Card Account information to Priority Pass. Priority Pass will use this information to fulfill on the Priority Pass program and may use this information for marketing related to the program. Once enrolled, Platinum Card Members whose Card Account is not cancelled may access participating Priority Pass lounges by presenting your Priority Pass card and airline boarding pass.
