Each transaction you make is approved individually and the amount you can charge is based on a number of factors including your past spending patterns and payment history on all your American Express accounts. Since The Platinum Card is a charge card there are no interest charges, provided you pay in full and on time each month.

To help you keep track of your annual spending, you will receive an itemized Summary of Charges, which includes all charges made with all your Platinum Account Cards, organized by spending category (E.g.: restaurants, hotels, airlines). This Summary of Charges is emitted in January and covers all the charges made during the previous year.

There are four ways in which you can settle your monthly Platinum Card account. Whichever method you choose, please remember to always quote your Platinum Card account number.

1. On the Internet ¹. To pay your bill online, any day, any time, simply log on to American Express Online Services. Payments will be withdrawn from your enrolled US Bank checking account. This service is fee-free, quick and secure.

2. Via Private Banker. If you obtained The Platinum Card through your Private Banking relationship, your bank will make payments for the full balance on your account to American Express on your behalf. This service is quick and secure as part of your Private Bank bill payment service.

3. By Phone ¹. Call 1-800-801-6564 and, once your account is enrolled, you can save time by paying your American Express bill over the phone every month. This service is fee-free, quick and secure. You can pay your bill any day, 24 hours a day. Payments will be withdrawn from your enrolled US Bank checking account.
